Over-all Satisfaction of SoundPure: Outstanding! If you want that old-school experience of actually shopping at a pro-audio store and talking to someone “live” over the phone – who knows the gear, its features & functions – who not only understands what you are looking for but has probably used the gear you are asking about – you only need to give SoundPure a call.
I’ve been buying and selling new and used music equipment for decades – long before there was an “eB-y” and/or a “Rev--b”. And although those storefronts had an advantage in the beginning to locate hard-to-find gear – they have now morphed into a faceless human-less storefront between buyer and seller. Their increasing handling fees, shipping costs and taxes on revenues, ultimately have become cost prohibitive. By the time you pay all the out-of-pocket fees weighed against your take-home value – you end up with less than your gear is worth – both emotionally and materially. It is so demoralizing. And when you weigh it against what the on-line service is “actually” offering, you really feel desperate to sell anything at all.
However, needs change – unused gear can pile up and it can seem senseless to let it collect dust. Somebody out there is always looking for exactly what you have and are not using.
So, I have found working with SoundPure to be the perfect solution. I trade used gear for used gear. Everybody gets more out of the exchange. I end of with equal or greater value than selling my gear outright. More importantly – SoundPure becomes the trusted intermediary between the buyer and seller. I sell/trade SoundPure my equipment – people call SoundPure to buy/trade them their equipment. A perfect transactional situation where the buyer and seller aren’t squared off working against each other.
SoundPure has always given me a more-than-fair market value for my gear. There is no haggling over value. They pay for shipping and ultimately, I have walked away with gear of equal or greater value than had I used one of the “services” out there.

Read moreIt was new amplifier time for me and, like we all do, I embarked on a very fun internet research mission with some idea of what I wanted to get, listening to different stuff, etc. Once I settled on a Mesa Boogie California Tweed head, I found a used one listed with Sound Pure in Excellent condition for a very reasonable price (several hundred dollars below MSRP for a brand new one). I had never done business with Sound Pure before, but after looking into them a little I decided to pull the trigger. I placed the order late at night and then called the store during business hours the following day to confirm the order had been received, etc. I spoke to Zak who was extremely helpful and confirmed the amp would be going out that day. I received all the tracking information, etc. as you would expect.
The amplifier arrived three days later in perfect working order and looking every bit as excellent as the listing. The packing job was also phenomenal. Multiple heavy-duty boxes, packing foam, etc. Zak followed up with an email to ensure that I had received everything and was satisfied with the purchase.
The only issue I had was the listing for the amp included a slip cover/soft cover which did not ship with the amp. I brought this to Zak's attention and asked him to look into it and he immediately responded that I was correct, the amp should have shipped with a cover, and that they would sort it out. Within a day of my initial inquiry about the cover, Zak informed me they were unable to find the actual cover from the listing and asked me if I would accept another, more heavily padded cover that would fit the head. I told him I was happy to (I play these things... I'm not a stickler for the brand name on the cover. I just wanted something to protect it during load in/out). The cover arrived within two days at no additional cost to me and is exactly what I need it to be.

Read moreI had been looking for a Martin 000 28 for some time, and was unable to find a satisfactory guitar locally. So I kinda stumbled across a used, modern deluxe 000 28 on google at a place called sound pure. I was very reluctant to make such a purchase online, without playing the guitar. But I called and talked with Jack DeRiso to inquire about the guitar. He told me the guitar was almost perfect in almost unplayed condition. I told him of my hesitancy to make such a purchase online without having actually played the guitar. He totally got it, and told me about their try before you buy program. Where you get to try the guitar for 7 days and if you don’t like it , just send it back and all you pay is shipping. I ask him if he could actually play the guitar and call me back with his personal opinion on the guitar. He dropped everything he was doing, went and played the guitar, and called me back in a few minutes, and told me it was everything as advertised. So, though I was still scared, I pulled the trigger. Next day it arrived at my house. After waiting nervously for 24 hours to allow the guitar to acclimate, I open her up and …wow! Not only did it look perfect, it played better than any I had played and sounds freaking amazing! Never made such a purchase on line before. But these guys are total pros and know most musicians approach such a purchase with a little skepticism. Jack is the man!
