Erick Pena was super informative and helpful when it came to answering all of our questions. We had gone couch shopping previously at other stores throughout the year but never bought anything since we didn’t really know what all to look for in the furniture world andddd no one ever offered us as much information or help as he did. We gave him the description of our living room, measurements of desired couch, window and fireplace placement, the desired color and the want for modular sections so we could customize to our needs. He asked more detailed questions (one of them pertaining to the space between the main wall to the fireplace which helps determine the depth of the couch) then proceeded to show us the sets that could fit what we were looking for and went into depth with details about fabrics, maintenance, brands, and a few other important things. He even noted that the couch we were favoring was a little lower than other couches so if we were to host older folks, that they’d have trouble getting off it 🤣 anyways.. the most helpful, informative, and kind employee we’ve come across at a furniture store and we’re so grateful! We had left for a few hours to shop at other places and nowhere had anything we liked.. we had to go back and everything worked out. We’re excited to get our new sectional this winter!
UPDATE 5.14.24: Our couch came in just before Christmas Eve or New Years Eve, I can’t remember which now. After maybe one or two months later, we noticed a stitch that didn’t look right and excess fabric. So we waited it out and then the stitching wasn’t looking too great.. so we contacted slumberland and they directed me on how to put in a claim (pretty easy) so we reported that there was a little stitching issue. We were able to get a tech out here to get the stitch fixed and it only took him like 15 mins. He also showed us that we had couch legs!! They were hiding in each sectional 😂 we absolutely love our couch, it feels like a cloud and we have taken plenty of naps on it. So far,...
Read moreLet me start by saying the only positive part of my experience was discussing it with the manager, Mary.
I purchased a love seat, chair, glider, and end table. When I tried the furniture in the store, I loved the comfort, size, and material. I got the glider on clearance almost immediately, the love seat and recliner took around 2 weeks to arrive. The recliner is wonderful and matches the loveseat, but I immediately noticed that the left side of the loveseat wouldn't recline easily. It took 10 days to get someone out to look at it, 2 weeks to ship the part to me, and another 10 days to get the repair done once the huge and heavy box arrived. The repairman, who was an independent contractor, brought a small part with him and repaired the loveseat with it . He then told me I should recycle the previously delivered box and part, and he couldn't take it with him, they don't do that, and there's no room in his vehicle for it. He left it for me to deal with. I'm a senior with physical disability. How was I supposed to move it, or lift it? I said that to him, and he told me he could make it easier for me to manage by altering the arm like structure. Then he left it for me.
When you spend money on new furniture, you expect it to arrive in working condition. I was offered the opportunity to exchange it, but was told that they weren't making the same kind, so I would have to find something else. I decided to keep the furniture because a new loveseat wouldn't match the recliner, which I love. I opted to keep it and have the repair done.
That was my mistake. I should have gotten a refund and found my furniture elsewhere.
I talked to the manager today, and she will arrange to have the part picked up. I'm relieved about that, but the whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, so to speak. I will buy the things that I still need elsewhere. I doubt that any of my family or friends will shop there...
Read moreThe sales gal Kathie and I hit it off so well today. More stores should have people like her working. She explained everything in what I was lookingfor i.e. a large oversized chair. Took me through all the extras and the price and when i asked to go back and reassess the chair I had picked out she said take as long as you like. No one needs a person breathing down your neck when you're trying to go over the situation. I called Kathie when I got home after thinking about my purchase and told her to go ahead and put in my order. She again went through the entire bill and that was it. Give that darling woman a raise. She is one in a million with he sense of humor. Thx, Susan...
