Every time I go into that place Michaels in Eagan Minnesota the staff is very unknowledgeable or unwilling to help. this time I was jumped the second I came in the door can I help you find something I replied yes you can I'm looking for a couple different things I was looking for gold foil and a fabric to foil adhesive. she directed me to the foil and then began to tell me there was nothing in the store that would do what I was asking.she was rude, short and acted like I was going to shoplift. stalked me like I was trying to steal something. I believe that was the entire intention of asking me if I needed some help immediately when I walked to the door.because they made an assumption that I was there to steal. I searched and found the product myself matter of fact I found three different products that did fabric to foil. This is not the first time I felt uncomfortable in that store now I have never stole anything from their store or any other store I am 45 years old I am an artist and I purchased the goods I need but I do not buy willy-nilly style products that I don't need so unless it does exactly what I'm asking it to I'm not making the purchase so I read everything. I will pull out my phone 17 times if I feel like I must and research. I will be taking my business to hobby lobby this is the last time I will shop the store disgusting rude behavior. I am very disgusted with their sales techniques, we will call it!!! As an artist I would like to add that I am sensitive and I was enjoying a very wonderful day until I made the stop at the Michaels arts and crafts store in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEmployee harassed and discriminated against us so we left without buying anything.
On 07/09/24 me and my partner went shopping here, I was holding an empty reusable shopping bag (to reduce plastic waste) and they were holding a bag from the store next door, a middle aged white woman who was stocking the shelf followed me around the store down multiple isles and eventually approached us āsuggestingā that we have to leave our bags at the front of the store and saying thereās a lot of shoplifters. First of all, thereās not a chance a store in EAGAN Minnesota has a significant shoplifting issue and if they did it should be handled by trained security guards using official store rules. Clearly she thought we look like shoplifters because we are Hispanic / lgbt. Iām sure women come in to this store everyday carrying big purses without being told off we should not be treated differently because of how we look. The idea that someone carrying a bag clearly labeled from the store next door is stealing instead of doing a lot of spending is just plain stupid. Interacting with customers this way is completely inappropriate and discriminatory and it ruins the good reputation of the Michaels brand. She should be fired!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been going to the location for years and most employees that work there are nice and understanding, I was there a couple days prior and there were some really nice older ladies that I asked for advice for what color yarn to buy. Every once in a while (like today) I'll have 1-3 employees following me around the store and lurking around corners while I shop and watching what I'm doing. Asking "do you need something?" Every 5-10 minutes. I already said no 3-5 times, I understand that it's customer service and they're supposed to ask (which they normally do when I walk in, highly appreciated) but following me around every isle is excessive and uncomfortable (not to mention by the same person) and I'm tired of it. Conveniently it doesn't happen with white customers that go there. I'd like to shop in peace, browse, buy my stuff and leave. The prices and discounts are good but I don't know if shopping here is worth it...
