Brick Church Plaza — Attraction in East Orange

Brick Church Station is a major transportation hub. It's also the dirtiest and most unkempt of all the NJT stations. This station is in major disrepair and reeks of urine. Debris, garbage and bird droppings are the norm. During the winter and when it snows this place is an absolute disaster, with dangerously icy platforms and staircases which are an accident waiting to happen. Not sure why Brick Church Station is not properly maintained since it's a designated transportation hub and a few years ago was awarded millions in funding for upgrades. It's not even wheelchair accessible. There are several stores at this station as well. Shoprite supermarket operates 24/7. There's invariably long lines with little effort to get customers out each and every time you shop. Perhaps this is the reason that hundreds of NYC commuters skip patronizing this Shoprite location all together. Rainbow Shop, Game Stop, two beauty supply stores, Dunkn Donuts, and several eateries are also established businesses that do very little to maintain cleanliness of the area. Why aren't proprietors held accountable for not keeping their properties in order and or fined? But that's a rhetorical question. This is a prime example of missed opportunities. Brick Church Station and it's vendors could bring in so much revenue to the area, but it's lack of quality service, products and respect for the community is a major hurdle to the prospects. I am not a fan of this location. I have been here twice. The first time was nice. I had an amazing cashier and even the second time also. My issue is that items they have on sale its very hard to find if you have items on sale I think you should keep some stock in the back because I heard it's like that all the time there. The shoprite near me they are usually way better stocked. I went out there to visit my sister and to take her shopping. Another reason why I only gave it 3 stars was the lady that gets called over to approve Coupons had a nasty attitude. I can overlook not having stock ok cool but to be given tude as well when you are as cool as a cucumber even the cashier noticed it as well. I shop in the area often the only problem I have is I go to the area four times a week they have security inside and in front of the ShopRite door but when I complained about a guy in the parking lot suspicious of him going around checking people's doors on their cars I don't know whether he was going to try to steal the car or still something out of people's vehicle but the security guard said he can't go out into the parking area he had to stay at his post in front of the door ShopRite I think that they should be able to secure the parking lot as well ShopRite customers should feel safe parking their cars in the lot and getting in and out of their vehicles I would like ShopRite management look into...
