This location is a joke.
I signed up because I am in between two homes. One in Peoria, and one in Crystal Lake. When I enrolled, I did so for the East Peoria location because Iād be here more often.
I went to work out in Crystal Lake, and I was locked out due to a payment being due on my account that wasnāt actually due yet. So I spent an hour on the phone with E. Peoria trying to fix the issue, whereby wasting my hour to work out.
They issued me a credit month for the hassle, and I finally went to East Peoria tonight to work out and tan. I filled out some paperwork and was denied the full training time of 9 minutes and told Iād have to progressively tan in 2-3 minute increments and build up to 9 minutes, even though Iāve been tanning the full amount of time at the other location!! Then what irritated me more was the woman told me that āitās a state lawā that I must progressively tan. I asked for the statute. She couldnāt provide it to me. Furthermore, I called two other locations, and neither of them were aware of this ālawā and both told me I could tan the full amount because thereās a record of it at the other gym.
I was so irritated with yet another issue with this particular location, that I just canceled my membership on the spot.
Simply put, Iām not sure anyone there knows whatās going on with laws, customer service, or billing. But I donāt have time to debate when Iām simply trying to use my membership that I pay for- To the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo I had a hernia surgery plus a gallbladder removal nearly a year ago so today the first time in nearly a year I've been able to be up and on my feet I decided I'm going to give planet fitness a try see if I can get back into it because planet fitness was my top choice for places to go for working out. I get there and since I haven't been to the gym in almost a year my card kind of broke off I go up to the front desk and I let them know they said they have the app now apply they told them unfortunately the type of phone that I have the app doesn't like to cooperate she said no problem Entered my phone number in and as I'm walking away she turns towards her fellow staff members and says who doesn't have a phone that can use the app. Honestly I feel like that was disrespectful completely rude and 20 minutes later I left because it actually made my attitude go from wanting to work out to not really wanting to be there if staff is going to talk about you while you're right there what are they going to say when you walk away? What are they going to say when you're working out? For a place that's supposed to be a judgment free zone I felt instantly judged just because my phone can't have the app so I think I'm done going to East Peoria for a while. Wanted to say thank you Christina for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAt first this place seemed great. The staff is really nice. The facility has many machines and equipment. They offer great deals for their memberships. The problem I'm having is that their place is not meant for high traffic. If more than 10 guys are there all the machines get taken up and the dudes are mostly there taking selfies in between reps. Then when you're done and want to shower the locker room becomes impossible. They only have four showers, two toilets and then two privacy dressing stalls. The lockers themself are too close together and if four guys are in there, they all end up near the same locker. I basically go there because its cheaper than Gold's gym. I'm not trying to be overly critical but come tomorrow I'll be there. Now as of late they seem to be having the same problem. The hot water is not working. Its not every day but last week it was out. I had no time to run home and shower so I did the coldest Nd quickest shower to get clean. Now normally a cold shower would not be the end of the world but with the low temperatures outside you run the risk of hypothermia or at the very least your immune system gets suppressed and you catch a cold. Call before going so they can tell you in advance if the...
