We just had our daughters 7th bday party here. It was a total hit! A lot of her friends never climbed and in the 1.5 hrs they climbed you watched each child’s confidence grow as they challenged themselves and finished their climbs with pride. I bet a lot of the kids will pursue climbing more in the future! We live closer to the Oaks location but for a kids party Malvern is the best. The clear climb board where you can climb facing a friend was a favorite and then so many fun challenging colorful kid rock walls that the kids loved. The girls who helped run the party were great! #1 we felt safe at all times. #2 I could enjoy the party instead of serve each child & parent attending our party #3 during the climbs these girls were very encouraging and motivating for the kids. Please tip the party staff ppl well- they definitely deserve it! Do not hesitate to have your kids bday party here! It may be a short 1 hr and 45 min party but it is full of fun and memories… and I think a real confidence builder for the kids.
The only negative experience was the partygoers either passed the place or found it hard to locate. The signage our front needs upgraded for sure. Seems Google maps tells you to turn too late. So many of our guests were a little late for the already...
Read moreWe were there for a birthday party, which was fun, but two staff members failed to fit my 4 year old’s harness properly. The first employee (blue hair) clearly did not know how to put the harness on my small child. He eventually admitted this, saying he had never used this type before (!), and asked a second person, who helped, but neither of them tightened the harness AT ALL. Like they helped him step into it and then made zero adjustments despite the fact that he was swimming in it. My husband and I, with almost zero experience, noticed how loose it was after he had already been cleared to start climbing. We asked yet another person, who did know what they were doing (finally). It turns out the arms, legs, and torso were all WAY too loose. Every strap needed to be tightened quite a lot. Knowing how to properly and safely fit a harness for a younger child is a bare minimum responsibility for anyone in this role. They need to retrain their staff so the younger kids can...
Read moreOne of the huge minuses of this location is that kids are not allowed to boulder. You must put that somewhere on the website that is immediately visible. Since me and my kids go to another gym that ONLY has bouldering they were VERY bummed about this. Never been to a gym like that. Bouldering is for kids. You expect me to belay kids when I could be climbing instead? The hanging cubes, the transparent wall, and the interesting corner wall were fun for them on autobelay but that is the only unique feature of the gym, 3 climbs. Rope walls are short, about a third higher then some walls for bouldering in other gyms. Have not seen the old style of setting with the tape, forgot how really confusing that is....
