My husband and I used to live in the area but moved a few years ago, the distance did not stop us from consistently returning to this movie theater. However, a few weeks ago my husband and I went to the movies early afternoon. We got home and realized my husband did not not have his phone. We checked the location and realized it was still in the movie theater. I called the movie theater at 3:03PM, describing the phone, the theater number, our seats, and every other detail. She said she would ask her manager to go check. I did not hear back so I called back at 3:19PM. The manager came on the phone extremely rude and irritated and said, 'THERE'S A MOVIE PLAYING, I CANNOT GO IN THERE AND INTERRUPT IT." the next movie started at 3:15PM, if the manager had checked when I called there would have been no movie playing. My husband and I basically begged for him to do this as a favor, our children were not with us and it was important for them to have access to both their parents. We explained all of this, still refused. My husband drove 30 minutes back to the movie theater in hopes to retrieve his phone and the manager was purposely blocking the entryway and told my husband he would have to wait until 5:50PM when the movie was over. My husband mentioned his wife (me) is disabled and recovering from surgery adding to the importance of having his phone, manager refused stating "he cannot interrupt paying customers" (as if we were not just a paying customer) and called the cops. East Windsor Police came and said this is a civil issue and nothing they can do about it. I called the movie theater to speak to the manager at 4:23PM also pleading that my husband get his phone. The manager replied, "Not for nothing, you leaving your cell phone isn't my responsibility." Of course not! But what happened to human decency? My husband picked our children up and returned at 5:50PM as instructed. The phone was located on the floor under the seat (it fell out of my husband's pocket) ; if the movie theater was cleaned between showings, the phone would have been found before the next movie even started. I understand not wanting to interrupt customers, however, I am positive a quick, "excuse me I am so sorry I left my phone here, can I please grab it!" would not have caused any distractions like calling the police over a cell phone. Best part of all, when the manager had to describe my husband to the police he said, "tall black man wearing all black." The manager was rude, arrogant, dismissive from the beginning to the end. We will never return, there are several other movie theaters closer...
Read moreI have patronizing this theatre through many of its transitions and although the surrounding are more modern, prices especially matinee very competitive, the staff , some encountered are rude. Labor day 2016 we purchased two tickets to Ben Hur. We were early gave our tickets to the employee and she directed us to theatre #10. We were some what confused, because the outer slate indicated the movie was War Dogs. We nevertheless entered, realizing the movie was already playing, the movie space was veryvsmall, so as not to disturb the moviegoers we sat down, after 15 minutes or so, the movie ended and a young man came in to clean the theatre. He patiently waited for 2 elderly couples to leave. It was at this point I asked him is this where the movie Ben Hur movie will be playing, and that's when the rudeness occured. He told us next time we are to sit outside and wait for the movie to end, that's it's our responsibility to know this procedure, even if the staff let's us in, that the staff are too busy to police everybody and give us proper instructions. I was very much offended, after showing him our ticket stub, I asked for his name and told him his manner of speaking to us, his assumption that we should know, his word by word confirmation and condescending manner was offensive. Perhaps he was having a bad day, but the theatre wasn't full, we were not in the way and what happened to customer service. I will...
Read moreThis theatre has changed names/ownership chains several times in the last few years, and was downsized to make room for a health clinic along the way. The prices remain lower than all it's competition and about half that of what you would pay in the city. They remodeled several years ago with recliner lounge seating and still kept the prices low. Overall these seats are awesome but in the process the theater went from being the one place that was never sold out where you could show up without a hassle or advanced tickets to one where if you don't get there at least 30-40 minutes early you will be sitting in awful seats in the extreme front or sides. That's because there are so many fewer seats than before and a large contingent of the typical audience at this theater is in retirement age (from nearby Monroe) and typically come early. You can't fault them for being the early birds. As a result, it went from being our go-to theater, especially since it's the closest, to one we hardly ever go to. Despite the convenience, it's just not worth the bad seat lottery. Meanwhile the AMC Market Faire opened with reserved lounge seats so this became our prime theater. Once you get used to reserved seating, it's hard to ever go back to unreserved. If Picture Show made their seats reserved, it would be the place to beat. Until then, we only trust it with movie that have been out a while and aren't likely...
