Great place to eat and enjoy yourself as long as you don't expect much from the service. The food was amazing and there is so much to choose from. I was with a large work group who went there three nights in a row due to the food. I went there two of the nights due to the food. Great atmosphere to enjoy a meal and watch some sports. If I was recommending this location alone based on service then you are better off going elsewhere. We had the same server for two of the nights and we had a large group of approximately 20 that all needed separate bills due to this being a work function. Our server was annoyed, which I understand, but was graciously accommodating that night. The next night our group was much smaller (less than 10). I forgot I needed to have my meal and drink separated and asked when the check was provided. Kaleb's said "No! I am not doing 20 separate checks" although I was the only one who asked. He gave me the wrong check and when I asked him about it he told me to just ask around and see who had my check, so I did. Nobody at our table had my check and he was annoyed he had to get me the correct check. I get it that people have off nights and maybe he was just having a bad night. However, my wife owns a restaurant and has been in the food industry for many years and even on her worst day she would have never spoken to a customer like that. It was also mentioned to us that if our table wanted drinks, we better order two of them now because he didn't know when he would be able to get back to our table again? Sounds like they are very understaffed which could also cause additional stress and frustration for the staff. Don't let my review discourage you from trying a great meal but just be aware of the service you may...

The place was not that busy when we showed up but it took us 15 minutes to even be asked if we have been helped or waiting to be seated by a waiter that happened to be walking by even though there were two hostesses who were coming back and forth from the back to the front that would glance at us then continue doing whatever they were doing talking to each other and pulling out their phones to text and make a phone call then run to the back shortly after being up front momentarily and this happened multiple times during that period. After the waiter recognized we were ready to be seated he talked to one of the girls so she went to clear the table and just stood there not saying anything so we went over there and sat down then she set the menus down and left. Not even 5 minutes later another party showed up and she was more than happy to greet them with nothing but smiles and a cheery "Hi welcome to the district, how many of you? 4? Okay that will be a few minutes we just have to clear a table" She then immediately cleared a table and waved them over and handed each of them a menu. I have no idea why we did not get that type of treatment but it kind of just blew my mind how differently we were treated with everyone that came in after us.
Anyways we ordered a bucket of wings and cheese curds. The wings were okay and the cheese curds literally had no cheese in 8/12 of them and over fried. We were too hungry to really even care about complaining because they likely would not of have done anything anyways, at least that was the vibe we...
Read moreIn downtown Eau Claire on a Monday and we were looking for a place for lunch— neither my partner nor I had ever been to The District but decided to give them a try.
We were greeted and seated quickly and our server Michael was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was fine— quiet enough for a conversation (we were the only ones seated downstairs) but nothing to get excited over. They did also have the air on as it was very hot out and the temp inside was comfortable.
It was a pleasant surprise to see a lunch menu! I ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich and my partner chose the BBQ Korean tacos with tofu. We also decided to share onion rings as our side as the menu said they were the best in town and I’m a lover of good onion rings.
Our food was delivered in a timely manner and it was hot. I was a bit surprised when my chicken sandwich came to see that it was a slider— I did not remember seeing it written that way on the menu. Nonetheless, it was a pretty good sandwich. It had spice to it but I wouldn’t say it was hot. The pickles and slaw balanced the flavors.
My partner thought his tacos were okay— he would have liked more crisp uses on his tofu and he thought the flavors were not particularly interesting.
I had high hopes for the onion rings that were voted best in town, but we were disappointed. I will say that the onion rings were generously sized but the batter was lacking flavor (salt needed!!) and were quite greasy.
Our experience at The District was okay and we will probably give them another chance at some point, but the food was just that...
