Rice Palace — Restaurant in Eau Claire

Big open room not too quaint. Could definitely use some dividers and plants!!! Server was nice and patient but slow to come. I asked for some cilantro or basil to go on top of my cashew chicken because it was very bland and by the time she brought it, my food was cold. 😔 I had one chicen egg roll and it was soooo bland with no veggies in it and it just smelled like the oil that they deep fried it in. It was a nice color though and delightfully crispy but I wouldn't get it again because totally no flavor in it. Heading to the bathroom made me aware of how dirty the place was, all the woodwork was so grungy and looked like it never got a washing. Then, I didn't want to use any of the "community" sauces etc. that they keep on each table...they looked all smudged... If the Spring roll I had on the add on the way home is any indication the food seems to be good. The problem is the the hour and 45 minute pluswait to get my food. I ordered online. A few years ago this was one of the most inexpensive places to get a good meal, now it's much more expensive but with inflation I understand. Staff is nice and almost all the food there is amazing. The reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 5 today is because of the green curry. I've had green Thai curry medium spicy before but this is not yummy like the kinds I've had. The best way to describe the stuff there is bland, hot gravy with green beans and tofu in it and overcooked, hard bamboo shoots. The kinds of curry I've had before had sweet coconut milk, somewhat spicy, with green bell peppers, pea pods, tofu, perfectly cooked bamboo shoots, Thai basil, and an amazing green curry paste.
