Delicious drinks, done dirt cheap!

Situated in a hotel is Eau Claire Downtown Coffee. Or better known as ECDC. I saw this place when I first visited Eau Claire but never got the chance to go. I told my friends that when we hang out for vacation, my only one real request is hitting up ECDC at some point. Not because I love rock music but because I love the ingenuity of the name… and maybe because it reminds me of AC/DC every time I think about it.

We popped in on our quiet day and were greeted with a really nice coffeehouse and some really nice baristas. I ordered my usual americano while Tim and Matt got drinks and a small baked good. We took a seat at one of the tables and just chatted and talked about our plans for the day.

My americano was really good. I noticed americanos up around Eau Claire were more subtle and subdued versus back home, which by this point I was getting used to it. Tim and Matt both got a latte that sounded good to them and a baked good. Matt got a macaroon and Tim got a tiramisu cake square.

I don’t have much to say about this place that I haven’t said a million times already. It was really nice inside. It had a very black theme to it. Maybe inspired by being somewhat named like this one hard rock band? There were some Star Wars meditating posters in one corner of the dining area. We didn’t stay long before we slowly sauntered on to our next destination but I am 110% glad we stopped in and finally got to check it out. It was definitely worth the wait. Check it out sometime if you are in the area and need a break from the chain places (or try one of the other good places to get coffee in the area, which is what I suggest).

Rock on and stay...

This place has been here for a while now, so I figured I'd check it out finally. I walked in with a friend and, to be honest, I'm not SURE if the employee greeted us. Usually I make a point of noticing, but maybe I just didn't hear him. I ordered just a regular coffee with cream. He informed me that the cream was on the table beyond me, but he left very little room for any. I asked if he had a lid, and again, he said with a bit of attitude that they were behind me. Now, I've never been inside before, but I felt like I somehow should've known. I have balance issues and some trouble walking carrying things, let alone piping hot coffee nearly filled to the brim. I intentionally walked very carefully to where the lids were, splashing coffee (unintentionally) on my hands and the floor. A kind woman saw me heading her way and quickly made room for me and gave me a sympathetic smile. The guy behind the register didn't even notice or offer to help me. The coffee was not for me, so I can't comment on THAT, but the staff is apathetic, uncaring,...

A very comfy and cozy space with lots of business, staff were very friendly and helpful. My boyfriend and I decided to try it out and I really enjoyed their drip coffee and I did taste the hot chocolate that my boyfriend had ordered and it was very tasty; a good balance between the milk and chocolate. My boyfriend did also order their turkey panini as it was available during the afternoon and he wasnt expecting it to taste sweet. He believed it might've been the bread that was sweet; he said he probably wouldnt order that particular item again, but would be open to try other items on the menu. They offer in house dishware, a compost bin thats easily accessable, and compostable plasticware so its a very ecological aware business and I appreciate that. It also appeared that they had their milk in reusable glass containers instead of the standard plastic gallon jugs which was refreshing to see that they're concious about their enviromental footstep. I would...

ECDC Coffee is an absolutely adorable cafe located inside The Lismore Hotel in Downtown Eau Claire. They serve locally roasted coffees and offer a wide variety of breakfast pastries and lunch sandwiches. Their baristas are friendly and enthusiastic and the menu is easy to navigate with plentiful options. The seating area is spacious, clean and inviting. I sincerely look forward to my morning brew when visiting Eau Claire! My usual is a 16oz Caramel Latte with Oatmilk, but if they have the Brown Sugar Syrup made, I highly recommend that! They always top my drink off with a beautiful foamy heart 🤍 Bring your cup on a walk through Phoenix Park in the summer, and life can’t be better!

So expensive! Their gluten free muffins were not good. And their coffee had an odd taste and film on top. I notified them of this, they gave me a refill and then changed out their half and half. However the same odd taste and film sediment settled on top of the coffee. I let them know again that their milk still might be bad. They said sometimes this happens and made it seem like a normal occurrence. The staff was friendly, and they were willing to give me another drink. But their coffee was terrible. Their northwestern wrap, although extremely expensive had good flavor.
