By far the worst experience we have ever had with a retailer. First off we are purchasing a scope for a rifle for what we thought and were told was $39. Then at the register we find out it actually costs $179. Turns out the scope was being displayed at the wrong spot. That means the associate who showed us the scope did not check to make sure it was the correct scope that cost $39. That also means this associate does not know the products he is selling. Aside from that we did not make a big deal about the false advertisement. We left our things at the register to go look for another scope within our price range. The associate at the gun/rifle counter said they did not have the $39 scope in stock. We continue to look around for a different scope. Come to find out there was not only one but 2 in stock. They were hanging at the isle. Guess what! It was ALSO IN THE WRONG SPOT! So we decide to take it without complaining. We go back to the register to pay for the other products (that were being held for us at the register #2) and the $39 scope we found. There’s a long line at the 3 registers open. They weren’t super long but long enough for our 5 and 8 year olds to get fussy. My husband stays in line to pay. Then to make the whole experience worse, my husband is told he has to go pay at the customer service register by Amy (manager) and was told that he had been told BEFORE! Which is a fat LIE! I was there and we were not told we had to go pay in customer service register. The customer service line was long also. Initially before this whole ordeal started we were in line at the customer service line. The cashier from one of the regular registers told us we could go pay at her register (#2). She even went to go get the first scope we had gotten. My husband had enough of all the shenanigans. Very...
Read moreThis is the first time I’ve had terrible experience. I went to return some shoes so I stood in line at their customer service desk. Then the girl called up the next person in line so these two customers walked up from the actual register to pay for their items. So I though okay I guess because they were here before me and maybe I was standing on the wrong side of the line so I moved where they came from. Then she asked the next person to come up and another person went to pay for her stuff even though she was already in line at a register as well. Now by the third time she called up the next person and another one from the register was going to go even though another worker was charging people there but I walked straight to the counter and I told her I needed to return some shoes. After that whole fiasco I checked my receipt and I noticed that $79 went back to an unknown card and I only received $1.50 so I asked the girl where did the money go if that wasn’t my card and she told me there was nothing they could do about it. So I went back and checked what card I used to purchase the shoes and it was the same one I only got $1.50 with. Since I did payments through Klarna I got in contact with them and I showed them the payments along with the card I used and they asked me the same thing. Where the other card came from. The shoes were fully paid for since I bought them in June. Luckily I was able to still return them. I received a notification from klarna that they were willing to refund me the missing money but I still don’t understand where that other card came from. I never requested a new card from my bank. None of them end in the four digits that were on my return receipt.when I asked academy about them they simply told me to contact my bank. I checked my statements and accounts and I’ve never...
Read moreI went to buy a 3 in 1 pool table American legend 84 I was told they had 5 available. I paid for the pool table and waited for it and after a while they came and told us they didn’t had any available any more. We were told that we could order online and pick it up wherever they still had available. I asked for a return so I could order one online in pharr and go pick it up. But before they made the return an associate came and told us that they had two available and if I wanted to wait an hr they could bring it down for me and have it ready. I told them that I was willing to wait without any problem if they assured me that they did had it. One of them went back to make sure they did had the one I bought, the manager also checked the # and they told us that they had it so we waited. We ended up waiting 3 hrs. When we were sent to the back they made us wait another 20 min because it wasn’t ready. When we received the item it wasn’t the one we bought they were giving me a 300 dlr pool table when the one I bought was 499dlrs. I told them that wasn’t the one I bought so they went back to look for it and after a while they came back and told us that they didn't have it, that they needed to make a return. Jose Garza was the manager who I talked to and he was unapologetically rude after we have waited for the table more than 4 hrs and we were assured that they had it available. I did asked for them to be sure if they did had it before making me wait and they were pretty positive and made me wait for the longest and make me loose the opportunity of buying from another store because by the time they told us they did not had it there wasn’t any available in any other academy near by. It was their mistake not ours. We lost our time and the deal that academy had for the day....
