I've been a customer at America's Best for 6 years. I think my experience at this store is finally the kick I need to find a real eye doctor's office for my appointments going forward. Stores in South Jersey (Deptford) are really steps ahead of any of the stores up here (Union, Edison).
First, scheduling an appointment does not mean you will be seem on time. The computer crashed while I was waiting at the desk. I understand that's not the tech's fault but I arrived 10 minutes early for an appointment and was seen 10 minutes late. I'm brought back to the waiting area and I hear Dr. Shah telling the tech that she wishes I and 2 others hadn't shown up for our appointments because she wanted an early day... And then I'm rushed through the motions to be told my script hasn't changed.
I leave without remembering my eye glasses prescription. I try calling the store just to confirm that the script hasn't changed. I wanted to order glasses from a third party website that was running a sale for the holiday. I am told by a Hector Torres (who was literally laughing at my request to either confirm my script on the phone or have it emailed to me) "the world runs on fax". (I work health care and I can tell you that's a lie...). All he could tell me about my script on the phone was that it had changed, so either Dr. Shah lied to me yesterday or Hector Torres was lying to me on the phone. Either way, this office is all over the place and the staff very clearly just wanted me out the door yesterday and off the phone today.
America's Best is outdated, I guess. You'd do better going to a real doctor's office. This store left me feeling...

Of course they are so nice when you first walk in because your money is wanted. I think the only professional with training was the eye doctor.
I picked out my frames and asked the guy who was helping if he can tell me if the eye glasses I’ve chosen fits my face as in the glasses not being big for my oval face and all he said was that he liked them because they were nice frames. So I had to make that decision for myself even though I though a trained employee would help me.
I was told someone would call me when my glasses arrived and no one did. My husband called and my glasses were there; not sure how long glasses were there.
When I went to pick up my glasses it was just handed to me. No one made sure glasses were sitting properly on my face/nose. I was given those pleather cheap cases that would not protect my glasses in my bag. I had to ask for the hard case which happened to be ugly clear thin plastic ones. I should have been asked which ones I’d prefer. I was handed one of those pieces of material cleaners for two glasses. I felt like I was begging for another one being that I did purchase two glasses. I had to explain that I need two because a pair of glasses will stay in my car and the other in my bag. I was told they did not have enough but she’ll give it to me. Uggghhh.
Never again will I use America’s Best which should be changed to America’s Mediocre.

Read morePoor experience. Had an appointment where I was running late (about 12min.) and they, understandably, told me I had to reschedule due to their 10 minute late policy. My fault, and they were following policy, so no issue and I get it and rescheduled.
I show up early for my new appointment, they tell me to take a seat in the waiting area and that I would be attended to shortly. I am the only one waiting in the area. I wait until nearly 20 minutes past my appointment and no one has said anything to me or addressed me in any manner -- I look inside the exam room and see an employee on her phone. I then spoke with the receptionist to cancel my appointment and to her credit, she was surprised that no one helped me and generally was sympathetic and I appreciate her assistance.
What is the point of having an appointment and being so strict about it when the client is at fault? Why can the doctor be more than 10 minutes late and we have to deal with it? I have to take off work to make these appointments and if my time is not respected equally, why should I choose this location?
