Customer service needs some revamping. Upon walking in, two employees were having a conversation at the front desk and I stood there waiting to be serviced. I paid, we played and as weāre approaching the last hole, my toddler had to use the restroom. We walked over to the restroom and there were two wet floor caution signs blocking the ladies room. We proceeded inside carefully and used the restroom. After exiting the stall one of the employees walked in and stormed out with an attitude.
When I walked out of the restroom, I asked another employee if there was an issue with customers using the restroom and she said āthe bathrooms are closed because weāre closedā. I asked how is that fair if weāre paying customers and she replied āthereās a bathroom at ShopRiteā. I found that to be very rude and extremely unprofessional. We werenāt lingering around and we had no intent to. Honestly, my family and I would have been done with our game before 10pm but you can only go as fast as the parties in front of you. This situation occurred around 10:20pm.
If the closing procedures include closing the restroom off and advising customers to go over to ShopRite, thatās insane. I would have more respect if an announcement was made that the restroom will be closing. I own an entertainment business myself and I would never close off the restroom before my paying customers have exited the building. We previously visited another location last year that was a half hour away, but we were excited and looking forward to going to this newly opened location that is very close to our town. We enjoyed the mini golf play, and the staff was enthusiastic and very friendly. Each time we've visited, they always seemed to leave a great impression on us. There seemed to be someone always around incase we had any questions, to give advice for the games, or to give a tip on where to hit the ball on the corse. We did not feel the presence of employees at the other location, so compared to the other place Edison made us feel comfortable and taken care of here when we visited our first time. The last two times we went, they were giving away prizes to keep the guests entertained. The arcade selection is a fine way to use up a bit more time after minigolf is done. It's not a full fledged arcade, but the few games they had were fun and it made us feel like we were in high school again (Skee Ball, a few shooters, a few cranes, and this fun virtual game with ball pit balls you throw at a screen to smash things). Needs some care and love though, like some of the arcade crane machines needed refills and would have been great if there had been some staff member to guide newcomers, tips instructions etc that sort of thing. Also some queue regulation at the entrance to the golf course is much needed. Right now you are at the mercy of how aggressive the person behind you is throughout the course. We (party of three) got pressured into rushing through the course and not being able to enjoy it because the party behind us of two wanted to move faster, and keeps encroaching into our tees forcing us at time to carry our balls to the next one. Someone at the entrance to the course to cushion or sequence entrance to the course would not just be good, but it's actually certainly needed. (Two members teams and teams without kids will always move faster and since everyone is on the same queue, it makes of awkward situations.) Given all this, I guess it's too much to expect the staff to check on people during the course and confirm everything is good or set some max time for each tee if required etc. Customer experience can be much improved to provide value...
