It's a fun, popular, little skatepark where the pros outweigh the cons.
The downsides: It's missing a few key features that made the old skatepark in this city park so great - mostly the spine ramp and shotgun rail. The concrete surface is very slick but incredibly smooth, while the sidewalk and parking lot are rough but easily skateable. The layout is decent, though it is cramped, causing people to start in odd locations to gain speed for obstacles. When there are five or more people using the skatepark, it feels crowded. It could also use more lighting at night (the urine colored parking lot lights work, but just barely). While under construction, the park builders were quite rude and mean to those of us skating over to take a peek.
The good stuff: It's insanely fun. Give it some time and go often before forming an opinion. You can learn ramp tricks easily here on the smaller quarter pipes, then tske them to the mini ramp. There's also some good drops, ledges, rails, a perfect little pyramid hip, a quick and steep mininramp, that weird thing in the middle, and some fantastic curbs. Trash cans to throw your junk away are also provided. The locals are always ripping it up and are genuinely very kind and happy to have a little spot to roll. They are what makes this park so great.

Read moreNow this is a skatepark! Every obstacle is sized nicely. A nice size round rail that's extremely fun to slide and grind. Ledges you can kind of get tech and do combinations on cause they're not too high off the ground (I was getting it in). There's a very fun sized half pipe I was having way too much fun riding. The stairs and double set don't seem that intimidating so it's easier trying to do tricks off of it. It don't matter if you're 14 years old or a middle aged skateboarder like myself, this park got it all! I will definitely be coming here more often cause I was looking for skate parks in the Denver area where I can actually progress and learn new tricks that doesn't seem like some ridiculous X Games style course like Denver's skate park that seems overwhelming, or something underwhelming with not that much to it like other parks around the area. This park has everything for beginner skateboarders to seasoned rippers decades deep...

The horrific stresses that have recently risen up to meet us. Like a giant space cobra breathing smog with green lighting jumping from its eyes. Attempted escape was barely possible, though most definitely attained with positive vibes, love and detication.
