It was my choice, of all the restaurants in Denver, where the 4 of us would eat on Friday 9/12/25. I chose Steakhouse 10, we’ve had great experiences in the past and praised about the service and quality of the meals. If i didn’t know most restaurants now share tips I would have left our server $0.00 but I chose to leave 20% so the support staff, bartenders and cooks did not have to suffer because of our server. I can’t remember being so upset with a server in my life. We were sat at 6:55 for our 7:00 reservation. The support staff was quick to bring us water and bread. Our server showed up at 7:15 frazzled, in a hurry, spoke in a thick accent and the environment was very loud. He was hard to understand and hear and he became visibly irritated if we did not hear him, understand him or had a simple question. He had no greeting, no specials, zero personality, just scribbling on his note pad, making us hurry up, irritated at every question and rarely ever made eye contact. By 7:30 we finally had a drink. By 7:50 he came back to take our order and at this point we decided to not get the appetizers we wanted because we didn’t want to wait close to another hour. Do not get me wrong we have no problem talking, drinking, eating an appetizer and not being in a rush but we didn’t have these things. We then ordered dinner and pre ordered drinks because we weren’t sure when he would be back, and continued to order a drink any time we saw him just in case. If any of us did not immediately say what we wanted our server became visibly irritated and was looking around like we were inconveniencing him. He then immediately threw our salads at us about 1 minute after taking our order, which 3 out of the 4 were wrong but he never came back so the 3 of us ate our wrong salads anyway. This server had tables all around us and was talking back to most tables as he walked away so he wasn’t even available to get flagged down for any reason. We then came to desert. The ladies asked for one more minute and he gave us over 20. Then we sat there close to another 30 minutes after our desert waiting for our check. After putting 2 and 2 together we figured out the server threw our leftovers away and they were cooking us new food. This was nice but an explanation would have been great as to why we couldn’t leave, and at this point I wanted nothing more. All in all we arrived at 6:55 and left at 9:50.. almost 3 hours and I’m willing to bet our server did not give us 10 minutes of his attention. For spending $600.00 I’m furious the way we were treated and I’ve waited 2 days to write this so I could calm down over the evening. It honestly felt like we were at IHop and the server was sat with every table in the restaurant at once, that is basically the level of service we had. This is very unfortunate for the high level of service and hospitality we have received in the past. I would put this guy through training or put him in the back of the house because he is a horrible representation of...
Read moreFirst time visit as we have recently moved to the area. Small independent restaurant, nice appearance and ambiance. Attentive wait staff - thank you Steve. Overall we had an excellent experience. While we are not total food snobs, the wife is a Cordon Bleu masterchef, we like to eat well and get good value for our hard-earned wages.
Steakhouse 10 isn't a place where small portion sizes are disguised under overly decorated pretentious platings. The meals are straightforward, well prepared and presented, and more than right-sized for a satisfying experience.
We started with the cocktail menu which offered the normal list common at most restaurants these days. I was happy to see my Old Fashioned served with a single whiskey cube instead of a space-filling scoopful of chunky ice. Wife had a standard G&T. Let me say, these drinks were pleasantly strong (as i would hope for 12 bucks each). The wine menu was 2 or 3 pages long, and mostly featured domestic wines. Our preferences are European reds; the international choices were fairly limited but Steve located a nice rioja for us.
Soup and salad: she had the soup of the day - lobster bisque. Rating: ok, not the best but not the worst. I selected the wedge salad from other choices including caesar salad. As with the soup, it was average and satisfying (above average if compared to chain restaurants of course).
Next up was the main course, and the highlight! We love steaks; in particular, filets medium-rare are our go-to. Wow, these were fantastic. We ordered a side of the housemaid bernaise sauce which was equally tasty. Potatoes and asparagus were ample and well prepared.
For desert we shared Creme Brule and limoncello cake. Yum.
Yep, we have a new local fav. It's a bit spendy, which we don't mind on occasion when we really feel we got our money's worth. Work/ customer dinners usually find us at the larger steakhouses (Parry's, Shanahan, et al). Will start making the drive into Englewood, especially when we have a smaller group for a more...
Read moreVisited in early March 2023. From the reviews and family recommendations I had very high expectations for this steak house. Starting off our waiter was very brash by telling us he was going to take great care of us. His service was very lack luster and not on par with other high quality steakhouses I’ve been to.
After taking drink orders he came back and miss understood what we wanted. We ordered a bottle of wine to have for the table he brought a glass. No big deal at all but when we asked him about it we we met with hostility that we only ordered a glass. Eventually the bottle comes and that is solved but I do not like to be second guessed on what I ordered especially from a restaurant of this caliber.
Next was the food order. We put in our order only for 10-15 minutes later for him to come back and say they were out of Alaskan King Crab and 10oz Filets (which was 3/4 of our tables order). You would expect from a restaurant of this price and quality that the staff would know what is out of stock and not have to wait 15 minutes to come get an updated order.
We reorder different menu items and continue on.
When we get our entrees the waiter had switched 2 of our steak temperatures and put them down in the wrong place. Not a big deal for us to switch them but the lack of details the waiter missed was appalling.
The meat quality honestly was not great. The fillet seemed to be more of a sirloin quality that didn’t have the typical tenderness of a filet (prepared medium).
The lobster tails were also lackluster in presentation as well as flavor.
The family members we came here with this was their 4th visit and they were also surprised as their previous visits were great!
For the price and service I would not recommend coming here and saving your money for other well proven steakhouses in the...
