This was the worst escape room experience. Everything in the room looked thrown together, old, and lacking in creativity. The worst part was that several of the things we had to do to "escape" didn't work correctly or at all. In the first of 3 rooms, there was a lock that the attendant said was new. We had the correct code yet spent 5-10 minutes trying to make it work. Finally the attendant came in and tried it. It took her a few tries before it worked for her. In the 2nd room, the switch to deactivate an alarm wasn't working so again the attendant had to come in and fix that so we could move on. In the last room, one of the secret compartments was already opened which made things out of sequence and the combinations on a cabinet never did work. After "escaping" we asked some questions about things we discovered but didn't use. Come to find out, because things were out of sequence we didn't actually solve everything that should have been solved and didn't use all the things properly. The attendant tried to open the combination on the cabinet and she wasn't even able to get it to open. It was very disappointing in the end to discover we "escaped" but really didn't do it the right way. Other than the girl attendant who was very kind and energetic, this was a horrible experience and a...
Read moreOverall, it was a good experience, but I definitely wouldn't go again unless I had a Groupon. The puzzles were pretty decent, but I think it's hard to have one gamemaster running multiple games at once, especially when they're introducing people to a new room and another room asks for clues and gets put on hold for like 8 minutes. Also makes the flow a little bit worse when you have back to back rooms with minimal time to reset everything. We started our room twenty minutes late because another group was just finishing.
The production quality also isn't the best I've seen. The puzzles are kinda fun, but I think the cheapness of the decorations detracts from the whole experience. The library of secrets felt more like a run down classroom with all the printed out labels on pieces of paper. I'm not going to lie...when I walked in, I definitely felt a wave of disappointment hit me because of how dingy the room looked. It did get better as we got into the puzzles and the second half was better. Also one of the locks was broken. It's probably a high turnover place, but maybe some things should get replaced once in a while? You could guess the combo on some locks by how worn the numbers were. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but I don't think I'll come back. Some of the puzzles were...
Read moreI don't understand how this place has such high ratings. This is the most low quality escape place I’ve ever been to. All other places had a TV screen in the room that displays clues and time left. With this one you have to use a walkie-talkie to ask for clues and ask for how much time you have left. You’d think with all those Groupon tickets bought they’ll have money to put monitors for time/clues on the walls.
For the game, we played the Royal Heist which allows up to 10 people. That alone was a big mistake, the people we were paired up with were just awful and tried to do everything by themselves. I barely contributed anything to this. You need to reduce the amount of people who play this room and others. There was a laptop in the room which was processing very slowly!!. There's a room with lasers that you have to get past and if you have only overweight people in your group, you'll most likely not be able to pass and require game master assistance.
Overall, it was not enjoyable whatsoever and I will never come back. I’d rather pay $5-$10 extra dollars at other places.
So far I have played at the "Red Door Escape" in Southlake & "The Escape Game Dallas" in Grapevine Mills mall both...
