I had a ring custom made here when it first opened. It was a teardrop diamond set on a band with a hidden halo. In the custom building process you get to have these heads set on the ring to have an idea of what your ring will look like. I asked the women helping me continuously if the ring would be set this high on the ring, and she assured me it would be lower and everything would be structurally sound. Fine. Ordered the ring and when it finally came in and was ready for pick up, it was in fact NOT set down and looked to be just placed on top of the band.
I told the person I was picking it up from that I hated how high and uncentered it was and it looked just placed there. I even inquired about canceling it, it looked horrible, I hated it and this was supposed to be my 10 anniversary ring and the one I pass to generations after. I was told I could not have a refund, made to feel stupid and that I "didn't know what I was talking about". And if I had a problem with it, just purchase the warranty plan, but there was no fixing it, and this is what you get. My family and Flash forward, I've cracked the weld multiple times on the head and bent the ring (I had my other set 10 years with NO lost stone/damage). I have had it done under the plan, we're military, so they paid to ship it back etc. Well, lo and behold the plan expired with no notification to me & guess what, the weld has cracked the THIRD time. I never even got a return about them "looking into extending the warranty" even after multiple calls and back and forth.
So I took it to a repair shop here in VA, and all of my worries and hatred for this ring was addressed without me even telling them what was wrong with it to start. There is ZERO structural integrity to this ring, nothing but one flimsy weld to hold the center stone and hidden halo on there. The stone is not centered and it in fact is shotty work, I will continuously break it because it sits 1/2" above my finger and catches on absolutely everything.
I am so frustrated and felt so invalidated because I hated the ring I spent so much money on and they "did exactly what I wanted". They didn't do what I wanted, and now I'm stuck spending THOUSANDS again to have my dream ring.
*attached is a picture of my ring and two bands. Notices it just floats on top with ONE spot connecting it. It's extremely off centered/out of place.
the other is my ring next to another and how it should have looked, and literally what I...
Read moreWe are a military family and move all over the country every two years. Each place we live I take my antique wedding ring in to the local jewelry and ask if they will repair my ring so I can wear it again. Everytime I get the answer "No, its too old and fragile to work on". It had been in my jewelry box for almost 18 years. A long time Alaskan resident and friend referred me to Bishop's Jewelry Gallery. So I went expecting the same answer but was pleasantly surprised from the very first time I walked in. They asked if they could keep the ring to consult with the owner and master jewelers. Then called me with the answer "Yes, we can fix it and add to it. So we worked on designs and then they went to work. It turned out prettier than I ever expected and they re-enforced the entire ring. My son and his fiance designed a ring with them and it turned out beautifully. I would give them 5 stars on everything a million times over. So glad I get to wear my ring again after all these years!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you Bishop's Jewelry...
Read moreCould not be happier with my experience with Bishopsâ. I was able to design a one of a kind engagement ring for my soon to be wife and it came out so much better than I imagined. The staff has been nothing but helpful and friendly, and anytime Iâve compared prices with any other local place theyâve gotten me a better deal. My fiancĂ© also had a very old heirloom bracelet that was falling apart but I was able to bring it in match the chain and use some of the old bracelet and update the clasp. If you put the two bracelets side by side when they were new you would not have been able to tell the difference and it was really important to protect that piece of family history. I highly recommend for all your...
