Conte's Bike Shop — Attraction in Falls Church

I came here looking for an e-bike on a budget. This was one of the first stores I'd gone to. I didn't know a lot about e-bikes. The older woman was really helpful; she had even already taken out some possible bike models for me to try based on a call we'd had the previous day.

The younger man with the beard/mustache was not helpful -- in fact, he was straight up unkind. The woman was helping another customer. He did not help me, despite standing around without any task, until the woman instructed him to. I asked him what other bikes I could look at. He asked me for my budget -- I said I'd like to keep at maximum $1750. He said, and I quote, "Maybe you could try Amazon. They sell cheap bikes like that."

????? It's probably true that this was a low budget for an e-bike, but to say that to me was just so mean. I was so taken aback that I just left quickly. I'm sorry to have to have to write a bad review, but I just could not believe the rudeness from this staff member. This was my first experience at Conte's and it seems like they have other stellar employees, but I personally cannot abide by this employee's behavior and would encourage that he gets trained on customer service or at least common sense. I was interested in a new trail bike and after trying several bikes from several different shops, I went back to Conte's and bought a Giant Stance 1. There were other bikes in this range that I liked as well as the Giant, but I thought the staff at the shop were the best of any shop I visited. I started off with Brian the mechanic. We spent a lot of time talking mountain bikes. I appreciate mechanics who are knowledgeable and approachable. When I did my test ride, the guys in the store spent all the time necessary to properly set up the suspension so I got the best possible test. This included checking sag and readjusting a few times to get it just right. As a side note, no other shop I visited tested the suspension's sag with me on the bike. When I picked up the new bike, they spent all the time necessary to set it up just right for me. Before I came in, they offered to convert the tubed tires to tubeless for a small price, saving me the hassle of doing it myself. That was just great customer service. I've ridden it about 60 miles in the few days since I picked the bike up, and it has performed flawlessly. I give Conte's 5 stars for great service and for doing a great job setting up my new...

8/26 My bike was making a clicking noise Bob did a quick once over and told me it was the peddles. I was in and out before I knew what was happened and now my bike runs more smoothly and he tighten the brakes too. Thank you Bob you're AWESOME!

7/21 I thought I need a New Cassettes (gears) for the front and back, a new chain and my back tire is starting to fall apart (according to Spokes in Vienna). Adam (bike mechanic) rode my bike and said I'm fine. He just saved me $200-600 according to various bike places around town. Thank YOU ADAM you're AWESOME!!!!! He also told me about a regular events where they show you the area. When I need work done on my bike I'm coming to you. This is the best customer services I've ever had and I've been riding for 15 years!

While Adam was riding my bike I talked to Richard who told me they do fitting at the store and they have 16 stores in the area and a Warehouse in the area. They have a HUGE selection and they update their website every 12hrs! I have friends who are trying to buy bikes and can't find anything! THIS IS THE PLACE TO GET WHAT YOU NEED. p.s.
