When we arrived to escape-a-torium, we were greeted by a world-class puzzle master who turned an ordinary rainy Friday night into an extraordinary adventure. He was kind enough to allow us to switch from “The Feud” room to the “Scare BNB” at the last minute which aligned more with our group’s interest (and skill level). From the moment we stepped into the room (porch), the ambiance set the stage for an immersive experience. The attention to detail in the décor and thematic elements was impeccable.

What truly set this escape room apart was the brilliance of the puzzle master. His passion for creating challenging yet solvable puzzles was evident in every twist and turn of the game. Each puzzle was meticulously crafted to engage all senses and intellects; but what truly impressed me was the puzzle master's ability to strike the perfect balance between guidance and independence. He provided just enough hints to keep us moving forward without robbing us of the thrill of discovery. His enthusiasm and encouragement fueled our determination, turning moments of frustration into triumphs of teamwork.

While visiting Fayetteville, WV as part of our trip to New River Gorge National Park, we stumbled upon a sign for the Escape-A-Torium—and we’re so glad we did! After finishing a hike and grabbing a bite to eat, we gave them a call to see if they had availability. To our surprise, they did, and they were able to fit us in last-minute.

At first, only two of us were ready to take on the challenge, but a third family member joined in, and thankfully, the room we chose could accommodate 2–4 players. From the moment we stepped in, the theming was immersive and the puzzles were engaging—challenging enough to keep us thinking but not frustrating. The room master did a great job of providing just the right hints at the right time, keeping the experience exciting without giving too much away.

We managed to escape with just 25 seconds to spare, which made for an incredible adrenaline rush! The cost was very reasonable, and honestly, this has been one of the most fun and memorable parts of our trip so far. Just do it !! Having never gone to an escape room before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. This is fun at its finest with a professional yet super friendly and encouraging host to walk you through getting started (and if you’re absolutely stuck and desire it, a whispered light hint from above to get your brains to re-focus without giving away the answers.) The Bunker is very challenging without being impossible while offering up plenty of “urgency” as the clock ticks down and the status lights show your progress down to the final task needed to escape. We were impressed by the technology and interworking parts that kept the process engaging and super fun. There is plenty of room to move about safely and collaborate with your team as you gather all the clues. This space is visually pleasing and engaging from the moment you enter to the moment you leave, and it’s also very clean as you touch all the things while sorting out clues.
