Love this cozy little coffee shop! I had been hiking about in New River Gorge National Park for a few days and was in desperate need of caffeine, a warm beverage, and a cozy spot to sit and relax for a bit. Range Finder Coffee was just the spot -- it's a cozy enclave filled with plenty of natural light, great ambient music, and super friendly people (both customers and staff). I had a great conversation with the barista about my hikes and their recommendations on other areas to visit around West Virginia and swapped stories with several other hikers (some of whom also had their dogs!!).

The coffee was fantastic -- super rich and aromatic, and everything I needed after trekking out in the woods for the last few days. The barista also recommended their pumpkin chocolate chip muffin, which was absolutely divine. It was packed with pumpkin and spices, so each cinnamon-y, nutmeg-y, ginger-y bite felt like I was taking a bite of fall. It was also loaded with chocolate chips -- the muffin was probably about half muffin and half chocolate, which was delightful. The muffin itself wasn't super sweet, so it helped to balance out the chocolate, and the combination was a perfect pairing...

A hub of the community. The beautiful thing about Range Finder is the community atmosphere Craig, the owner, has created over the past couple of years. Fayetteville can be a sleepy small town, especially in the tourism off-season and Range Finder acts as a warm welcome center for locals and visitors alike.

The coffee is some of the best in the state. Everyone who works here is deeply dedicated to the craft and cares about their customers being happy with their experience. Since this is a true craft coffee spot, there aren’t the same offerings as what you could find at Starbucks down the road, but the quality supersedes what you could find at any chain.

Frequently, you will find strangers playing chess together, sparking conversations with each other and making new friendships. This is a great place to come to find recommendations on things to do locally, where the best climbing spots are and what’s happening in the community. Range Finder is an excellent addition to downtown Fayetteville, bringing life and energy...

Best coffee, best people, best spot. The owner, Craig, cares deeply about not only providing the best possible coffee at an unbeatable price, but about sharing the things that bring him joy (notably coffee and hip hop), supporting local creators, and carving out a fun, creative, and inviting space for the community. I have had the privilege of being a Range Finder patron since its very first day and I remain in awe of Craig and this gem he has gifted to Fayetteville.

Range Finder is my favorite place to visit before a day of climbing, after a run or hike, as a workday pick-me-up, to hang out with my friends, or just to turn a bad day around.

The Range is friendly and welcoming to all, including kids, pets, and coffee snobs. If you're the type to judge a place by its cappuccino, come prepared with a blank space at the top of your list of favorite coffee shops because it doesn't get better than this.

This is one of those rare can't-miss spots, so treat yo self when...

Loved just about everything about this little coffee joint - the vibe, the staff, the food, the coffee.... I only wish it were larger, had more seating. For those of us doing fun, adventurous stuff in the national park, it's nice to get back to civilization for wifi, great coffee, and a pastry and to upload/share pix n vid of the fun stuff you did. But the smallness made me feel a bit guilty for sitting more than 30-40 minutes because of the limited # of seats and the popularity of the place. IMO, prices are a bit high for a small West Virginia town, similar to a Starbucks in pricing. But i guess if u can generate the business volume, then there's no motive for lowering prices. love the photo wall by the way.... it's like taking a tour of a family history via a photo album.

Having been to the other coffee shop right down the street earlier in the day, I expected Range Finder to be somewhat similar and I was pleasant surprised to be quite wrong. Both are great in their own way, but this is definitely more my speed. The other shop (feels weird to say their name in a review for another place) was a nice breakfast spot with coffee close to what you’d expect at a cafe, but this was much more of a speciality coffee experience. Super cool vibe, nice and intimate location and size, and the coffee was great. I was confident I made the right call when I walked in and saw a Hario Switch and an AeroPress on the wall. Highly recommend, especially if you have relatively high coffee standards!
