If we would have visited only once my review would have been 5 stars. Our first visit was dine in. I got the house granola and my husband got a handheld. Our food came out quickly even though they were busy. I thought the granola was great although it lists cayenne honey but I did not detect any cayenne at all. Cayenne is one thing I can usually taste no matter how little is in a recipe. The bowl was a good size. There was plenty of fruit, almonds, granola and yogurt. My husband got a handheld and really enjoyed it. He said the pepper jelly really made a difference.
Based on our experience on our first visit, we decided to get takeout on our way out of Fayetteville. This time both my husband and I ordered the house granola. Again it was busy. We noticed that a couple who came in after us and ordered two handhelds to go got their food before us. A bit after they left, one of the girls at the counter noticed us and asked if we were waiting for food. I said yes and that people who ordered after us already got their food. She checked and we finally got our order. When we opened our containers, I was so disappointed. The takeout house granola was about 1/2 of what I got for dine in. There was a folded piece of foil lining the container and as you can see in my photo they skimped on the fruit, nuts, etc. With the foil lining the container, it made it hard to get all the yogurt out, some of which had seeped over the sides and underneath. For the two house granola plus tip, we paid $21. Based on what we got, we should have only paid 1/2 of that. The first time I had the granola, I didn’t need to eat lunch for 5 hours after. With the takeout portion, I was still a bit hungry and we had to stop about two hours into our trip home to get lunch.

Read moreMy wife and I stopped at The Wood Iron Eatery during our anniversary trip with our two dogs, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish.
The patio offered plenty of space for us and our fur kids — the picnic tables were comfortable and perfectly accommodating.
I ordered the A.M. Handheld Sandwich with housemade fennel sausage, egg, and cheese on an English muffin, and it was outstanding. You can really tell they take pride in crafting their food — the housemade sausage had incredible flavor, and the pepper jelly brought the whole sandwich to life. I also had a side of the pepper potato hash, which was excellent — just the right amount of spice and a great crispy texture.
My wife ordered the Belgian waffle with honeycomb butter and a maple drizzle. It was perfect — you could tell the batter was made from scratch, with just the right amount of sweetness (not overly sweet like many breakfast waffles).
We also ordered two brown butter pumpkin lattes, which came out before our meal, served hot in ceramic mugs — a great touch. They were delicious and full of cozy fall flavor.
The food came out quickly, and every staff member we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. We honestly would’ve loved to try everything on the menu because it all looked incredible.

Read moreMy group was looking for a good place to eat in Fayetteville for breakfast. We tried Cathedral Cafe (which is great), but it was super busy so I explored the town and found the Wood Iron eatery. It seemed like a good place to eat, was much less busy than Cathedral cafe. The place had maybe 6 people in there and were all already eating. So, I order a breakfast burrito without sriracha sauce and called the rest of my group to come meet me there. Seemed great. My group of five got there and ordered. After a bit they all got there food and two of them had ordered burritos too so I asked the waitress if my ordered had gotten in since I had ordered long before they had. Well, my question was met with an attitude and a canned excuse of they're still working on it. The cook noticed and asked what I ordered and in two minutes I had a burrito. At this point I was just glad I got food even though it had sriracha on it. So basically, my order hadn't gotten put in and instead of being treated like a human I got attitude and lies. I'll never eat here again. I'll happily go wait to a table at Cathedral cafe where they treat people like humans. I will say though, thanks to the cook for making me a burrito and being cool about it. The paying for food and not getting it is one thing, but the attitude problem, that's is what is prompting this post. Good luck Wood Iron if this keeps up, people...
