First and last time I will be visiting this place! My daughter had dined here previously and wanted to bring me. Due to the lack of parking we had to wait and come back later in the day. By the time we arrived we waited for several minutes to be seated. We then were given menus and told to order at the counter. No further explanation as to the workings of the restaurant, or the fact that we only had a limited time to order our food before the kitchen closed. ( their menus are not friendly to those of us of a certain age who can’t read smaller writing) so it took much longer than normal for me to look over a new menu with my daughters help. As we were about to order a young lady informed us that the kitchen was closed that she was unaware that we were even there and that if we wanted a salad or something from the deli but nothing else. I asked if my daughter couldn’t at least get her sandwich and was told NO. I informed the lady that was very poor customer service , that no one had told us the restaurant was closing soon. as we were seated ( or we would have made haste) that this was my first time coming to their restaurant and as we walked out she rudely replied the time is on the door. I dont know if it’s me but I never look on the door of a restaurant to check the time and I certainly wouldnt have thought it would be 3:00 🤷🏼♀️absolutely rude terrible customer service! It’s a shame because I have heard the food is good. But I don’t know and will never be back! I recommend secret sandwich society or pies and pints never have I ever had disrespectful, rude treatment from...
Read moreI recently hosted a rehearsal dinner buffet for 36 at the Cathedral Cafe & Bookstore. I was a little nervous about it, as I reside in Florida and had never been there before. I communicated with Cassidy over the months and weeks leading up to the event via text and email. She was incredibly responsive, thorough in her answers to my many questions, and always quick to reply. Fast forward to the week of the event itself. When I arrived in the town of Fayetteville, after a 13 hour drive, we went immediately to the cafe for lunch. The relaxed vibe of the place, the friendliness of the staff, and the quality of the food blew me away. I knew right away that we had picked the right place! Cassidy and her team were so helpful, offered great suggestions for set up, and all of them went out of their way to help us create a relaxed, welcoming, and intimate setting, complete with the perfect background music that Cassidy selected. The buffet items that she proposed were absolutely delicious! Everything was homemade and presented beautifully! I cannot adequately convey my deep appreciation to this wonderful group of people who worked so hard to make this event a memorable one for my family and our guests. Special thanks to Trey and his amazing weight...
Read moreI liked this place but wasn't completely blown away. They have what I assumed is a grab and go fridge for food but it's towards where food is prepped so if you're just there for takeout you don't really walk that way. When I walked in I started towards that but was called over by a staff member who was on her way to the register at the front door so I didn't really see it until after ordering. After ordering you'll pick drinks up from the bar in the back but food will be brought to you in the front. It just seemed like everything could be brought up front.
The pecan (I think?) coffee cake I had was great and their cold brew was a perfect match with it. I also had the hummus and vegetable baguette. The spread was super tasty on it but the rest of the sandwich was kind of lacking. It may have been too little filling for how much bread there was, or that the veggies inside were raw and didn't pack an insane flavor, I'm not sure.
While I waited for my order I noticed a drinks fridge towards the front and that merchandise is scattered throughout the front half of the building. There's a good amount of indoor seating and outdoor is offered as well. All in all I'd probably stop here again but I wouldn't go out of...
