Planet Fitness — Attraction in Fayetteville

Been all over the country to a lot of planet fitness locations. This is the best layout out of them all, here's why: Theres plenty of floor space to stretch or do non-equipment workouts. The weight area is spacious and has plenty of benches, both incline and straight, so that you're not fighting to find an area to exercise in, nor are you on top of another person. The showers have a great setup: theres two curtains with a space in between to stand in, so that I dont have to shuffle over to the Single changing booth in my towel.

Heres why I dropped a star: The bathroom reeks pretty severely. I can tell it has been cleaned every time I'm there, but they dont seem to have a cleaner that can get rid of the years old urine smell, and no kind of deodorizer in the bathroom itself. It's so bad one can smell it upon entry. Some of the equipment in the gym isnt in fantastic shape- wear and tear that has been neglected to the point that the equipment is falling apart i.e. the pull up machine's handles are coming apart. I've seen hard plastic replacement handles for those which offer a better solution from the rubberized ones. The water fountains are terrible. The water pressure is so low that I simply dont use them anymore.

I'm sure the corporate response is going to be "speak to the management team" but that's not my job. Why is that my responsibility?

As a manager, perhaps they should walk and inspect the gym every once in a while, because the problems are obvious and noticable, if they simply gave a care to do so. Why should I, a customer, give you input on how to better manage your gym? Pay me and we'll talk.

A young lady named Kristen works at night. I’ve seen her walked out of the gym or taking her kid to the bathroom, etc. I don’t care because sometimes we all are in that kind of situation you have to leave your work area for a sec for whatever reason you have. But today I had to ask my friend to come get the car key from me to get something cover myself. She won’t let my friend in of course because no membership. So she herself walked to me and said with attitude “You look you could’ve came to the front. This is not my job. Next time you come out to the front yourself.” And walked away, obviously didn’t even ask why or give me a sec to explain. She must assumed I was playing or something. What if I was hurt? Or It was an emergency? Anyways, after that she let my friend to bring me a shirt so I was able to cover myself and come to her to explain what happened. But She was saying that she couldn’t leave the area (remember what I said in the beginning) and didn’t have attitude but she was still bitter, raising voice so I got hot too which I shouldn’t need to. I felt like we aren’t getting no where so asked her name, she told me so I was leaving. But she kept on going and saying behind my back “Hey, you want the managers name? You can talk to manager. TAKE THE CARD. Talk to manager.” I’ve been coming to this gym for over 5 years and I have not asked a single thing to anyone works there. Of course I know that it’s not her job But there always can be a situation to all of us including her. THE OWNER or OPERATOR, whoever in charge don’t believe me, look at the camera to see what happened. Update ... the only calf machine and one of two leg curl machines have been broken going on SIX weeks now and only half the treadmill screens work and NONE will change channels. Several of us have complained about this stuff but the staff says the owner only has one guy to service equipment and he's busy on the new facility. Nice.

Scumbag behavior from gym owners is nothing new. Been in and out of them for more than 35 years. This is the kind of owner that gets in over his head and closes up all the locations overnight while still taking another month out of everyone's bank account. Seen it way too many times over the years.

It was ok the first year or two when I was still paying daily rates and for the first few months of my Black Card membership. However, lately it's difficult to get a machine or bench. Too many idiots have moved in and they'll put their towel, keys, water bottle, etc. on a piece of equipment and then go work on something else while people are waiting to use the bench or whatever. Some of these guys will put their stuff on TWO benches or machines at once, or they'll sit on a machine for 20 minutes talking or texting. That's the kind of low-rent crowd you get at these places. I should have seen it coming.

Most all of the TVs on the treadmills are now broken permanently. Machines with Out Of Order signs for weeks. And buckets to catch leaks all over when it rains.

The cheap fees are irrelevant when you can't use the equipment cuz it's broken or can't move...
