DISCLAIMER: They offered 10% off of my dinner bill if I wrote a review for the restaurant. However, the opinions and thoughts are my own and are not monitored by the staff.
I just found out about this place very recently. They replaced a Mongolian bbq that was popular for many years, so I had to check it out. Price point wise, it’s in direct competition with KPOT. What separates it from the other KBBQ location, which also opened up just recently as well, is its price point and its discounts on certain days and its choice of meats and layout.
The price for this place normally is $27.50 for dinner (Adult) and lunch (on weekends). But during the weekday, it’s ten dollars off for lunch and depending on the day you go, there’s a military discount and a ladies discount. For the options you are offered here, they’re already beating out most other KBBQ in the immediate area.
The meat selection is very organized and set up buffet style. Most KBBQ locations have you order and wait for the food. Here, you can grab your items to throw into your hot pot or bbq very quickly and they keep the stocks available for everyone.
The buffet is also very organized. To avoid cross contamination with different meats, they color code the tongs and have signs on which tong goes where. That’s very considerate of them to minimize risk of allergic reactions due to cross contamination.
If you’re new to KBBQ and hot pot too, they have a sign at your booth that shows how long certain meats take to cook. This is nice for people wanting to discover what KBBQ has to offer for them.
They also do sushi which was surprising. They don’t have an extensive list of rolls since their main game is the BBQ. The quality of the sushi was about Publix and Harris Teeter grade. Nice as a supplement, but not as a primary dish.
The only thing I would take a point off for is the seafood. They serve oysters, crab, mussels and salmon. However, it appears that the crab is already steamed prior to being put out. Plus oyster can sometimes be eaten raw is prepped properly. But when I asked if those particular meats were safe for consumption as is, I never got a straight answer and decided to cook them. It would help if they had a sign next to the oysters stating that they could be eaten as is at the risk of consuming raw food. For the crab, put the “cooked” tongs with them or state that they still need to cooked in the hot pot/grill prior to consumption.
Because of that, I can’t give the place full marks. But if you’re looking for a place to chow down on KBBQ for a decent price. This is rated at the top of the list for the...
Read moreI know they are fairly new. I ate there 3 weeks ago and today. Today is Sunday June 8, 2025. When you first go in, you see that there is a multitude of selections to cook either in boiling flavored water or the grill both at your table. Problem, 3 weeks ago the choice I picked for flavored boiling water was too spicy hot. Today, the flavor I picked was a very bad flavor. 3 weeks ago, the meat was fresh. Today some of the meats I chose was spoiled. The frozen small cuts of raw fish tasted spoiled after I cooked it. So was the ribeye steak and cut pieces of chicken. I couldn't eat anything today because the meats I chose were spoiled. (I dont know about the ones I didnt choose). Either they reuse the meats at end of day by refreezing meats and serving it again the next day or, the containers the raw meats sit in are not kept cold enough. I was able to eat the one piece of sliced sweet potato and one piece of sliced pumpkin and some onions and a dumpling that I put in the awful flavored boiling water. The fish balls and lobster balls had absolutely NO flavor. Don't know what they were made out of as far as a filler goes but they were spongy and boring, no flavor. The tea was terrible. They give you green tea that has some sort of fruity flavor but they do not serve regular tea. All in all, I did not like the fact that I spent $30 on meats that were spoiled, a drink I couldn't drink, and the amount I food I did eat, wasn't even a pound. No, 2 times was enough for me. I'm not playing Russian Roulette with "is the meat fresh, is it spoiled, was it thawed out then refrozen, were the containers just not cold enough" ever again. Not playing that game ever again. Nothing was tasty, nothing was flavorful. The restaurants that have a lot of food also but is very tasty AND is half the price is Hibachi Grill on Bragg Boulevard, Thai Lana on Bragg Boulevard, and Thai Pepper at Starpoint all in Fayetteville. And, Thai Pepper at Starpoint has the sticky rice and you get a whole mango to go with it. If you like buffets, Hibachi Grill is the only one that is ALL DAY. Thai Lanna only has buffet on Friday nights and Sunday lunch. (Closed on Saturday). But right now they are not opened, they went on a 7 week vacation.Thai Pepper at Starpoint has buffet M-F at lunch time, but you can order off menu if you missed buffet....
