I had 2 kindle fire 10 tablets. both 64 gig. I had mentioned to my mother I needed it for work. with out knowing I had already purchased one my mother bought me a second one 2 months later. Now I have 2 and donât need the second one. admittedly I had waited a while to deal with getting rid of the second unneeded copy. However I visited this location today to sell the unopened second copy and was told by the manager (mori) that they couldnât buy it with out a receipt. since the unopened one was a gift I had no receipt. she did advise had I brought the used one in they could offer me 40.00 dollars for it.
as someone unfamiliar with pawning anything I thought this was strange that a new copy of something was harder to sell. after calling other pawn stores from the parking lot and getting similar info I decided the simplistic solution would be to just go get the used one and sell that and keep the new unopened kindle.
so I went home and swapped out the kindle and took back the used one instead. they were busier when I went back so I waited in line for about 20 minutes. when I got to the counter I was again speaking with who I assumed to be the manager (Mori) and explained that I thought this would be a simpler way to do the exchange.
this time however I was told it was a different model number (which itâs not, I double checked) and that it was only being sold for parts now and she would only give me a few dollars for it.
this is literally a bait and switch. terrible customer service when I did follow the advice given to me by her.
as a 1st time customer to the world of pawn I can safely say this will be my last experience as well. I thought it would be quicker and easier to pawn this item (although I would get less for it) but now I realize why people prefer craigslist and ebay these days....
I will be selling this item through ebay where this same kindle goes for $80-100 and deal with the hassle of shipping now instead, since this has been such an unpleasant...
   Read moreI went in there, yesterday, to support a friend to get a specific type of bike and it seemed like Jonn was not in a good mood.
He came across as being cold and as though he did not want to be there. His customer service was, definitely slacking. I understand that people have bad days, but he left a bad taste in my mouth. I have done business there and I felt disappointed when I left. I am sure that he has to deal with very unpleasant customers and itâs seemed like my friend was getting the brunt of his frustration and anger with his bad experiences with those undesirable customers from the past.
I was actually there to support a friend (the mother of my children) who has struggled with an addiction for many years and he treated me with dignity and respect, but he treated my friend like she was nothing and beneath him. She has worked hard to get back on her feet and to maintain her sobriety after an addiction to a hard drug for 9 years.
It seemed as though he was judging her based upon how she looked because she was missing most of her teeth, and when he saw me, who is vibrant and husky and very presentable, he treated me with the upmost respect.
Unacceptable!!! The mother of my children was being very kind to Jonn and he treated her like crap as though she was beneath him.
When we went to another EZ Pawn on 72nd, they were nice and personable and friendly, and were smiling and treated both of us with dignity...

I am extremely disappointed. My wife and I put a guitar on layaway, and when I was out of town, went to make the next payment. The guy told her that because it was in my name that she couldnât make a payment or take it home. He told her that when I got back I could make a payment and take the guitar home. I just got back from my trip and they sold the guitar and then a different lady got extremely frustrated with me when I asked for a refund for the money we had already put down. They were extremely rude and condescending towards me saying that âthey only want money, so they would have allowed her to make a paymentâ which was not the case. As someone who works in retail and customer service, I was extremely upset that I was treated the way I was. I usually try not to make a big fuss or leave negative reviews (everyone has bad days) but the complete and utter disrespect and disregard to how I was feeling, led me to write this.
Long story short this store is scamming people of their money and anyone who sees this should walk as far away from this store...
