Alex at the full service counter was amazing, he laminated my St. Margaret of Cortona prayer cards with great care. They turned out perfect! I couldn't be happier with his energy and customer care. 👍

The poor economy has taken its toll on the integrity and trustworthiness of Office Depot; they can no longer be trusted.

Here's an update about my recent visit to the Flint Office Depot since my review two months ago:

November 2023: Several times I have had terrible customer service at the Flint Office Depot location. I recently went into the store to just turn in used ink cartridges to recycle and get my rewards for doing so. I wasn't sure if the cashier who waited on me was the same one who is always so picky and rude because she didn't have a mask on. Turns out, unfortunately, it was her when she wouldn't give me a plastic bag to put the ink carts I was going to turn in. I had a bag full of my own and just wanted to kindly put only ten of them in a store bag to hand in. This cashier refused for some stupid reason and then insisted she take my bag and get them out herself, and I adamantly told her no. She got so rude with me and I said never mind, I'll get someone else to help me. I gave her my feedback and told her she has the worst customer service skills, and this cashier was so bad, she yelled back to me that I was a terrible customer! What a bad mouth on her! No employee should ever talk like that to a customer!! I told the employee at the service desk what the cashier did and found out her name is Retta. I have complained about her before but never knew her name. I asked for the Office Depot District Manager's name and was told it's Jeff and I called another Office Depot location for them to have him contact me. Jeff did call me and took my information about the Flint store. I also told him of another incident with another employee who I had already complained about when I returned an item and she was going to staple my original and return receipts together and I kindly told her please no, I don't want them stapled and she gave me a hard time about that! Why? The Flint Office Depot is the very bottom of the barrel with customer service and the worst of all the central MI locations and I have only gone there just for minor transactions. Depending on which location I am in at the time, I also go to the Okemos, MI store which is top notch where the employees are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and are accountable with excellent customer service. Not Flint, that store even looks depressing and the employees never smile and just go through the motions. When I make major purchases, like recently a new printer, I bought it at the Okemos store because they are the most trustworthy.

September 2023: Whenever I go into the Flint location my expectations with some of the cashiers are very low--lacking customer service skills. I submitted a complaint to Office Depot through the survey website on my receipt....

I'm sad to have to share this, but I've come across a very negative experience with Office Depot, and they usually do so well.

I bought a desk in September. The process of even buying the thing was bad in and of itself, but that's a different story. I went to assemble it yesterday, and found out that one of the desk legs was broken (internally where the body meets the connector. Not anything I even had to assemble).

I called the support number on the manual. After 20+ minutes on hold an hour after they opened, I was told that they have no replacements available for the desk I purchased. I could either wait 10 weeks for one to be shipped, or I could contact the store to have them replace with their inventory.

I got a case number and they transferred me to the store. After another 10 min hold, the employee heard my case (somewhat) and spoke to a manager. He came back to tell me right away they can't help me. After explaining again, and saying that I wasn't looking for a refund, just a replacement part for something under warranty, he went back to the manager. A couple minutes later came back and gave me a tale about how my item is delivery only and they don't have the parts either.

Not sure I believe that, since I went to the store last week and they still had the floor model of the desk I purchased, and were still advertising it for sale. I don't know if they even bothered to actually check. Now my options are to call back and wait another half hour to get a replacement in 10 weeks, go to my local hardware store and hope they have wood glue that will work and risk having my desk crash, or to take the $300 loss because of one small part the warranty can't seem to handle, and buy an entirely new desk from someone else.

I was a huge fan of Office Depot before this. If I do continue to do business with them, I'll be sure to keep it only to printing and office supplies, and...

Went to the Lennon Road Flint location this evening to pick up last minute school supplies. Upon arrival the entrance doors were broken (due to storm I assume). We squeezed our way through looking at lady at counter to maybe kindly smile, wave us in, some kind of response. Nope, just said very rudely the systems are all down. Okay, no big deal. We gathered all of our supplies. Proceeded to the checkout, where the same rude lady was standing. She stood there waiting for us to get to counter just staring at us the entire time. Honestly there were no other customers around. So I set the small carry basket on counter and said we are all set, she said, “excuse me”? I said, “we are ready to check out,” she said, “um no, you need to take all that out of the carry basket.” Very rudely told me that too. Mind you, I have never had to do that in all my years, but fine. I have worked in retail as well and honestly it’s easier to just grab, scan and bag from that little basket. I said, “ok” and proceed to move stuff onto her checkout counter. To do that I had to move stuff out of our way to make room for our stuff that we had to purchase. She continued to just stand there and glare. She then picked up her little walkie talkie and asked for someone to come up front for customer service. She then walked away to go chat with her coworker. She came back and said someone else is coming up to check you out and she just stood there. We then had to stand there and wait a good 5 minutes for someone else to come check us out. There was no reason for her to not check us out herself. I should have just walked out. Better yet I should have never squeezed through broken doors. The way she treated us from the very second we walked in that store was rude!!!!! I have been to that store often over the years and purchase regularly online and now you have lost our business and my husbands...
