Ashley Quarters is a very well run, well kept, clean establishment. There’s a lot of thoughtfulness, amenities and experience that goes into everything here.
Great location near some corporate centers and basically 21 minutes on average from Downtown Cincinnati.
As an avid traveler, my main critique would be to have an on-premise, around-the-clock front desk person.
Unfortunately, because of the occasional group and or disrespectful travelers, A. Q. can occasionally become an unchecked, “too family friendly, and too pet friendly” hotel without the moderating presence of a 24 hour on-premise staff that a guest can call any hour without worrying of waking up an on call employee.
There were many obnoxious people running down the halls literally at 12:15 AM and what am I going to do? Call the number that was available to us if we needed anything? I’m not going to call somebody who is sleeping most likely or at least has an alarm text across the way to come check on a bunch of morons running around this place with a cooler.
We also heard and saw dogs running and thumping down the hall with their owners.
What was the icing on the cake?
There was an obnoxious social media type star girl in plaid pajamas participating on some live event on her phone walking around for an hour and a half and talking out loud throughout all the hallways. It was so obnoxious. When Katherine and I got here to the hotel and was looking for the missing luggage cart —which we never found and was likely sitting in somebody’s hotel room all night—-the first thing we saw was the social media type person talking out loud as if there were numerous people around, but it was just her. It was so surreal. And she kept on this live event that we found out once we intersectex with her and then she kept walking up and down the halls and went to different floors basically trying to participate in this event. It was surreal.
If we were back home in Chicagoland, 100 people would’ve come out from their hotel rooms to tell her to shut up AND call the front desk and security.
Once again, if you had somebody on premise, you could just privately call and let them know and have these things addressed.
For these reasons, we may be hesitant to come back here unless there is more of a check and balance of an on-premise employee.
Once again, the room was very nice and well appointed / had many amenities! Thank you!!
The laundry room is very exceptional and has an online-based way to pay to do laundry. A. Q. also provides detergent which is amazing.
You may ask why we experienced all the bad things: it’s because we had to check in at 10:15 at night and that’s when all the disrespectful people were doing what they do best while others were already fast asleep.
I believe the owners and or management ought to spend two straight weeks on premise and hang out from 10 PM onward to see what goes on. The loud group of people running down the hallway with their cooler and throwing balls to each other after midnight were clearly coming from the pool and or outdoor deck since they all had their bathing suits on.
They were right across from our room on the second floor.
We are thankful for all the good things but as mangers of two major public companies, Katherine and I know about the benefits of an ongoing, PRESENT manager who leads and provides ongoing customer service and addresses issues.
As I am still writing at 1:21 AM, I just heard a few people go out in the hall again!...
Read moreLast Friday I stayed at the Ashley Quarters in Florence, KY. What a neat place! Somehow, it manages to have both a current, modern feel and still seem super inviting and classic at the same time. They still use actual metal keys to get into the room and the building at night, which I haven’t seen in forever and really I prefer. The bed was big and comfy and perfect, the place was really cozy. It really does feel like a home away from home. There is a community room right up the stairs, and dvd’s you can get from the office. USA Todays, my favorite, are available for everyone. The room had a kitchenette, really, like a full kitchen, comfy sitting area. Plenty of towels. I couldn’t have asked for more. The location is conveniently off the highway (although the ramp to head north was closed when I was leaving town, I have to assume that isn’t normal though) and food options close down early nearby on the weekends. But aside from that… highly recommended place to sleep where you can wake up with a smile on your face.
This was my second time staying at the Ashley Quarters Hotel in Florence, Kentucky. I think they invented the word “quaint” to describe this place. If you are looking for QUIET and comfortable, this is definitely the place to be. Conveniently located off 75/71 with food options and gas options nearby. Perfect for a traveler on the way somewhere or someone just needing a relaxing getaway. Shower was nice with the clear glass doors I like so much, plenty of towels. The place is essentially a small apartment with a lounging area and a full kitchen when you walk in the door. Real metal keys so no fussing trying to make them work or getting demagnetized or anything. Dvds available for use at your discretion in the community room. Coffee, USA Todays, chocolate on the way out and a friendly staff. Comfy bed and did I mention quiet? I had the feeling I was the only guest there, and I would have believed it if not for all the cars in the parking lot (still plenty of open spaces though). I love a hotel that doesn’t feel like a frat party or a Chuckee Cheese. This is a cool place with character and class and if you are in Florence you owe it to yourself to...
Read moreI’ll start with the positive. The beds were clean, including the sofa bed, which was the most important thing for us. We just needed a good night’s sleep to break up a long drive, and thankfully, we got that.||There was a vending machine on-site with pop, water, and chips, which was convenient. It was spacious and had a full kitchen. The bathroom looked newer and was clean as well. ||That said, I wouldn’t consider this a traditional hotel. It felt more like an old apartment complex that had been converted into a motel-style stopover. There was no onsite 24-hour front desk, which was concerning since we were arriving late in the evening. However, they did have a lockbox system for check-in, and we were able to get our key without any trouble. Just be aware you only get one key, so don’t lose it.||When we arrived around 9 p.m., the parking lot was full and felt a bit sketchy. There were people lingering in their cars, smoking, or just sitting there, which made us uneasy. We were lucky to find a parking spot.||Inside, the building looked dated. The carpets had visible stains and tears, and overall it didn’t feel particularly well maintained. Despite signs posted throughout the property prohibiting smoking of any kind, several people were clearly smoking weed outside in their vehicles, adding to the uncomfortable atmosphere.||The room itself was basic. Which is why it was so cheap (we paid about $120 for one night). While the beds were clean, the rest of the experience was lacking. Most of the TV channels didn’t work properly, and there was only a single lock on the door. There were no deadbolts or additional security features like you typically see in a hotel. The bathroom sink sputtered, and we didn’t even bother checking out the breakfast in the morning.||In short, this was more of a one-night pit stop than a place I’d recommend for comfort or security. If all you need is a cheap bed for a few hours and you’re not picky, it might serve the purpose. Just don’t expect hotel-level service...
