Very thankful for almost everyone that works here. They have been very helpful, warm, and caring. This is honestly one of the nicest hotels in the area that I have stayed at. The only reason for the 2 stars is due to all the issues we have had with storing and preparing food. I am a single widowed Mom with 2 kids who just lost my Mom in September and our home the day before she passed. So my little family and I needed a place to stay until we find a new home. Our stay began in September and we are currently still staying while trying to find a home. But due to my very fixed income I can not afford anything extra right now and up until 3 days ago we had not had a properly working refrigerator for our entire stay! The management did work with us as best as possible and we finally got our issue resolved for the moment, but the issue I’m having is paying so much of my money for a decent place for Me, my children, and our support animals and not being able to store or prepare food for almost our entire stay! And the manager here has done everything she can do on her part to fix the situation, but my issue is being compensated for all the food I had to throw away! And for not being able to store food or cook for my family! The only reason I chose extended stay in the first place was for the kitchen! We have literally been completely out of food, nothing to eat! The first time I had spent $250 at the grocery the day we got here and subsequently everything in the fridge and freezer went bad! Maintenance said it was because we had too much stuff in the freezer. So then we move on to our 2nd refrigerator which was moved from an adjacent room so it was still very cold, so we put what little groceries we had and put them in, and by this time I’m broke because of having yo eat out and use way more gas to keep trying to just keep us fed. We were eating 1 meal a day for about 3 weeks! It makes you feel like the worst parent on the planet when your kids are hungry and you have nothing! So anyway I went to a food panty twice in the last 2 months and it all went bad also because the new fridge didn’t work either! We’ll it did, but not in our room! Ding ding ding, must be an electrical issue. So we finally got it all figured out and as I’m sitting here writing this I’m also wondering how to feed my kids once again. I shouldn’t have to loose hundreds of dollars in food, the emotional strain and stress of seeing my kids not have what they need, because the hotel we’re staying at has failed us. I just feel like I should be compensated for not only all the food we lost, but also for the room we’re paying more and more each time and the hotel has not been as advertised! I am currently trying to find a way to make my next payment also, because of the rates going up instead of down, Customer relations wouldn’t even pass on my info because I couldn’t tell them the exp date on my brother in laws credit card (helped us out the first night) and when I asked to talk to a manager I got disconnected. Oh and the call cost me $1 because I called out from the hotel phone instead of using my cell because due to all the food issues I haven’t been able to pay my phone bill, and it was to make a call to them! And I was still charged for that. So on the website it clearly states that the longer you stay the less you pay, and it’s everywhere. And that has not been the case for me and my family. Not only have we had to go without food, but it has put me way behind paying more and more each time. I get paid monthly and would much rather just pay that way, but was told it was better to pay weekly, I’ve had people tell me to pay and book online, many opinions on how and why my rates have gone up and how I can get them lowered. But all I know is that it clearly states on all advertisements online or otherwise that the longer you stay the less you pay. I make enough money to pay for this hotel until we can find a home, but I do not make enough for it to just be taken by some corporation that sends you on a wild goose chase to try to get help or get it resolved. Hopefully 🤞🏼 🙏 Someone, Someone in upper management preferably, can help my family and I. Thank||You to all the staff who has been nothing but kind and supportive. I appreciate it! And thank you to anyone who takes the time out of your day to read this. I’m just trying to get help.‘it’s almost Christmas, we have 2 storages one for my moms stuff one for ours, no Christmas tree up yet, no money for presents, just barely enough to eat at this point. Please be considerate, as a patron of your establishment who has been making payments for over 2 months now, should be able to get help in a timely manner. It’s horrible to wake up and as soon as you crack your eyes open your brain instantly starts on an unending cycle of stress, anxiety, and a sense that your ttruly on your own! I just wish these large corporations would have better solutions for their patrons. God bless you all and have a great day. God how beautiful would it be if we all took care of...
Read moreWarning to present and future guests - Keep track of your charges! In June my little dog Toto and I, moved across country from Kansas to Kentucky. Our new Home was not quite ready and we stayed at the Extended Stay America from June 2, 22 - thru July 17, 22. Although I had made the reservation a month in advance, the only room available upon check in was a "non-designated dog" room. Only minutes after arriving to my room - which smelled very stale and clearly had not been cleaned for months - the receptionist had me sign a document stating I would pay an additional $2000. should my dog damage the carpet. I knew my dog would not destroy anything, so I signed. The Hotel staff were friendly enough, although you are more likely to find them outside smoking instead of behind the Reception Desk. In the 7 week I stayed, Housekeeping came ONE TIME, -and I found a threatening note to charge Me $249. because, they claim to “smell smoke”. The hallways and elevators ALWAYS smell like weed, and I could not understand WHY I would receive such a letter. Especially given at any time of the day, you will find guests of the hotel sitting on the enter/exit steps smoking and drinking beer. The room itself looked neat, but my white socks would become filthy if I walked on the carpet. There was urine on the sides of the toilet and MY SHOWER NEVER WORKED - and I brought this to the attention of the Manager several times, but it was never repaired. Therefore, I had no choice but to take baths. The "Amenities" this POS hotel advertise is a joke! The washer/Dryers were broken, and the Soda and snack machine were never re-stocked. The property is close to many stores, restaurants etc., however, the property itself has trash everywhere (fast-food containers, beer cans, cigarette butts, even used prophylactic). Despite my discomfort with my room (including the mattress), I thought, I just have to get through this and never have to think of this degusting place again. A day or so after check-out, my credit card registered a charge for $249. (misc) and I called the Hotel. The Manager, Amanda claimed there a small hole was on the chair. I knew neither myself nor my dog created any damage, in fact I left the room cleaner than it was when I arrived. I contested the charge and asked for proof - but both the manager and the owner refused to cooperate. I believe this property actively seeks ways to add additional charges to individuals who are not part of a company which may send employees repeatedly, and have filed a charge with Consumer Protection and my Bank. DO NOT STAY HERE! I choose it because it was the cheapest I could find and have limited resources and hoped to save money. Had I known ESA Turfway would create a way to get more money beyond the almost $4000.00 I paid to stay, I would have chosen a much nicer hotel. I would not stay in this Hotel if it were the only "safe" place available in the event of a Zombie...
Read moreThe place is clean and quiet and all, which it should be with what you are paying, est. $1400/ when u pay up front for the whole month 😱. The biggest problem I have with this place is the fact that they took advantage of the fact my 71 year old father is not as on top of things as he used to be. Last December he went to the bank and went ahead and pulled out the cash too pay for the room since he was already there and cash makes it easiest. The girl working at the desk started a conversation with him about something he was obviously passionate about, just to divert his attention so she could take advantage. He was wrapped up in the conversation and forgot to ask for a receipt, which would have never happened in his younger years. He realized his error when he got up to his room, and went down to ask for one. She claimed he never paid the money. He got a statement from his bank showing he withdrew that amount that my day, but that was not sufficient enough. He asked for them to review the camera footage from the desk, which they agreed to, but later claimed the camera was "faulty' and no recording from that day was available. So he was pretty much just S.O.L., and had to pay another $1400 , thanks to the thief or thieves. Taking advantage of the disabled, or the elder members of our society, or anyone struggling with mental illness is just unacceptable. He called people in upper management positions and was just blown off. That is most surely not the respect that a veteran of the United States Army, who served as a medic in the Vietnam Conflict , then got a 4 year degree from Morehead University, and worked until retirement, raising 5 children deserves. Grotesque!!, if you ask me, and someone should be ashamed...
