I visited this location less than three weeks ago; it’s the closest to me but about an hour away from where I live. I returned yesterday and was there shopping for fall decorations with my family when I saw that the Christmas tree I bought at my last visit was now $60 less than I paid. It’s a discouraging situation to be in because I live so far away and if I wanted my money back then I’d have to go home to get the tree then return to the store, which would be an extra two hours tacked on to the trip, not to mention the extra expense cost of gas. It taught me that their sales are fickle. At Costco, if this situation occurs, they will simply refund you the difference, which harbors a feeling of respect from business to customer and encourages regular shopping there. I recently did this with a mattress and saved $120 and a long trip and trouble bringing the mattress back in; they respected my time and appreciated that I shopped there regularly enough to catch sales like that. Therefore I figured I’d at least try to work it out with a manager. I had proof I’d purchased it less than three weeks ago (probably within a window of two weeks if you take out Sundays and Labor Day, when the store is closed). So I waited in a long returns line and asked the cashier to speak with a manager then began to explain the situation to her. She rudely cut me off, telling me not to waste my time explaining it twice. Okay. She seemed as though she expected me to wait to the side so she could get through the line but since I’d already waited for so long, I insisted on waiting there for the manager. I explained to the manager the situation and, without really making much of an effort to figure out the timeline (to see if it fit in whatever time window that would allow for a price adjustment) she informed me that she’d get “dinged by corporate” unless I brought the tree back in and was unwilling to work with me or even hear me out. This was a matter of numbers. I don’t want to feel like I’m playing Russian roulette or the stock market with my purchases. It feels like I simply cashed in my dividends too soon on this Christmas tree. That’s just not a good relationship to have with customers, especially regulars who shop there enough to notice these price variations. I decided not to make the extra drive back there for the return, or ever again for that matter. Hobby lobby has lost a customer and I’ll more than make up the difference in price on the tree by not shopping there anymore. Besides, they sell enough fall decor at Costco to keep me pacified. I do not recommend...
Read moreAs a long-haul truck driver, finding accessible parking for a big rig is always a challenge, but this Hobby Lobby just outside Cincinnati is a fantastic option. The parking lot is spacious and easy to navigate, providing plenty of room to park and maneuver safely. What makes this spot even better is the abundance of nearby places to eat, making it perfect for a quick break or a sit-down meal before getting back on the road.
The location is convenient and well-maintained, offering a safe and hassle-free place to stop. It’s not often you find truck-friendly parking in such a prime area with great food options within walking distance. This is a refreshing alternative to crowded truck stops, giving drivers a chance to relax and refuel both themselves and their rigs.
If you’re traveling through the Cincinnati area, I highly recommend stopping here. It’s a great place to park, grab a meal, and enjoy a bit of downtime without the usual stress of tight parking or limited options. This is definitely a spot I’ll be adding to my...
Read moreMy purpose in going was to frame an oil painting. The salesperson, Regina, was knowledgeable and helpful. She made recommendations but also listened to my comments in order to tailor her suggestions. In spite of the wide selection of frame styles, I had difficulty finding exactly what I wanted. Regina remembered a large stock frame that she had marked down due to damage earlier in the day. It was just the frame I was looking for, and the distressed finish meant that the damage could be touched up so it wouldn't be noticeable. Regina proceeded to frame the canvas while I waited, not just quickly popping it in, but doing all of the steps you would expect for custom-framed artwork! Instead of a bill for $200+, I paid $50 for the frame and just $3.50 for the framing supplies that were used. Regina indicated that Hobby Lobby is always willing to frame artwork for you in one of their ready-made frames and only charges the cost of the materials used! What great service, on both the local and...
