St. Augustine, Florida, is a city steeped in history and charm, with its cobblestone streets, Spanish colonial architecture, and picturesque waterfront. Amidst the rich tapestry of this historic city lies a unique and intriguing attraction - Ripley's Believe It or Not! museum. My experience at Ripley's Believe It or Not! in St. Augustine was nothing short of extraordinary, as I embarked on a journey through the bizarre, the unusual, and the downright unbelievable. As I entered the museum, I was immediately struck by the eclectic collection of oddities and curiosities that greeted me. From shrunken heads and bizarre artifacts to optical illusions and interactive exhibits, Ripley's Believe It or Not! offered a sensory overload of the strange and the wondrous. Each corner I turned revealed a new marvel, a new mystery waiting to be unraveled. One of the highlights of my visit was the collection of unusual artifacts from around the world. From a two-headed calf to a genuine vampire killing kit, each item sparked my curiosity and left me in awe of the diversity and complexity of the natural world. The museum's dedication to showcasing the weird and the wonderful was evident in every display, inviting visitors to suspend their disbelief and embrace the extraordinary. As I navigated through the museum, I found myself drawn to the interactive exhibits that challenged my perceptions and tested my senses. From a room that defied gravity to a mirror maze that left me disoriented and bewildered, Ripley's Believe It or Not! offered a hands-on experience that engaged both my mind and my imagination. I felt like a child again, marveling at the wonders of the world and reveling in the joy of discovery. One of the most memorable moments of my visit was encountering the legendary Robert Ripley himself. Through multimedia presentations and personal anecdotes, I learned about the life and adventures of this intrepid explorer and collector of oddities. His spirit of curiosity and his passion for the extraordinary inspired me to embrace the unknown and to seek out the wonders that lie beyond the boundaries of the ordinary. As I emerged from Ripley's Believe It or Not! museum, my mind was buzzing with the sights and sounds of the bizarre and the fantastical. The experience had left an indelible mark on me, igniting a sense of wonder and awe that would stay with me long after I had left the museum's hallowed halls. St. Augustine, with its rich history and vibrant culture, had once again proven itself to be a city of surprises and delights,

Very affordable family event. My cousin and I took our children and it was right at $50 or a little less for all five of us to attend. The children ranged from 7 to 10 years old and all of them had a blast. There are some places throughout the museum that provide a set up for a good photo opportunity. The ticket prices are slightly cheaper if you purchase them online and entrance into the museum is quicker with online purchases. Either way, it wasn't busy when we went on a Friday and we wouldn't have had to really wait either way. There are displays throughout to peak everyone's interest. Very educational displays, entertaining displays and interactive displays. Some areas have videos for you to watch for further education on something they have there. Real artifacts displayed: shrunken heads, vampire kits...to name a couple. There are some activities posted randomly throughout the museum that require loose change so bring some quarters if you plan on doing any of that. It isn't necessary though. We participated in a shooting game near the pirate display and we would have had just as much fun if we didn't do it. We stayed for 3 hours or so and could have stayed longer. The kids never once said, "I am bored." The ONLY COMPLAINT I have is that there is no bathroom throughout the museum once you enter. You must travel to the end of the museum to reach a bathroom. You cant reenter on your own, but staff will gladly let you back in. Just be sure to use the bathroom before you enter the museum.

Very crowded for a place that's open during the covid pandemic. Everyone is required to wear masks and is practicing that, but there's not enough space in the rooms and hallways for social distancing. Managed to grab photos of displays between groups of people. Areas were relatively clean but you should definitely wear gloves if you plan to visit since touching things is inevitable (from displays to the doors). There was also a very strong fruity flowery odor from the wax hands / paraffin room so if you have scent allergies, avoid this tourist attraction. Kids seem to have more fun here than adults, but it's made for all ages. There's even an employee elevator for handicapped or mobility challenged people, but that's sparsely offered since I was next to a family with a baby in a stroller and the clerk told the parents they'd have to haul the stroller up all the flights of stairs (what a workout for the dad!). There are also many areas that are very narrow and darkly lit so bring a reliable friend to keep you company as your hallway guide. I had fun here with my hubby but would've had a better time if it wasn't as packed with people and if all the displays actually worked. Fortunately, the wizard and Zoltar fortune machines were fully functional so I was able to get my silly fortune card as a memento of the trip. The cleaning staff seems to be only handling the bathrooms since some glass/plexi areas had a fair amount of fingerprints and there was trash here and there near the displays. The best area was the end of the museum where there's a vertigo tunnel that severely amplifies your sense of tipping over using repetitive patterns and lights in walkway thru a tube. It's more fun than it sounds and only works if you don't have vertigo to begin with. Overall conclusion: probably the last time we'll visit a Ripley's location; the novelty has simply worn off...But if you find yourself with nothing to do in St. Augustine and an extra $22 burning a hole in your pocket, take a walk thru Ripley's BoN for the unique photo opportunities.

My favorite place we went in St Augustine!! (We also visited the fort but not inside, pirate and treasure museum, colonial quarter, ghost walking tour, fountain of youth, oldest store museum, old jail, and lighthouse - all great but I love "weird" stuff the most). I was obsessed with Ripley's as a kid, so I was pretty jazzed. But I'd read some reviews that said it was just pictures and not that great. They were wrong! There are lots of actual artifacts and way more THINGS than pictures, including lots of interactive elements. The building is GORGEOUS and there's plenty of parking. From the very beginning with the vampire killing kit to the end, it was the best place I maybe have been in my life. I also appreciated that they called out the untrue from the unsure from the authentic/true. And besides the "odd' things - among my favorites, the painting reproduced by toast slices and the MOST DELIGHTFULLY LEFT FIELD THING, a tiny repro of the Bible brought on Apollo 14 in a Faberge egg 🤣 - were many artifacts from different cultures, so it was a fascinating historical and anthropological trip, also. Strange animals, bad taxidermy, odd art, cultural artifacts, dark pieces of history - this place has it all! And honestly the best gift shop we went to. To our cashier - Goonies never say die!

Long line to get in. My wife and I got lucky and got to the admission booth earlier since a few people left out of frustration. Definitely overcrowded for a public location during the covid pandemic. $20 per adult for admission plus tax so we paid around $43 for both of us. Everyone was wearing masks but the crowds and narrow hallways make social distancing impossible. Clean bathrooms, trashcans at each floor, minimal litter around the displays. If you have allergies or are sensitive to strong fragrances, don't go here since there are about 3 different strong perfumes that can cause potential breathing difficulty...possibly 2 from other guests, but definitely from the wax hands room. Museum ends in the vertigo tunnel, but there's an alternative route to avoid it. The last stop of the museum is the gift shop with plenty of trinkets for kids. Be sure to wear comfy shoes and gloves since this is a tactile adventure and you're gonna wanna touch the displays and it doesn't look like there's a cleaning crew for anything but the bathrooms. Unfortunately, this is the last trip to Ripley's that the wife and I will take since it's not fun when people are crowding you when you're taking photos. We'll post a walkthru video of our museum visit on YouTube soon.
