1). We will never shop here again. And military folks, please do not shop hereâŚas they are NOT military friendly. I have been a customer here for a few years. Iâve bought many pieces from them, to the point I crossed their âreward programâ threshold after multiple visits, and was given a discount. We donât live locally so we would drive down to St. Augustine to use the reward discount. Iâd find a piece of turquoise I liked, and theyâd stack our military discount with it.
2). This year I received my birthday discount and we drove down to use it towards something along with the military discount. I found 2 pieces totaling almost $650. We asked about the discounts and were told they donât stack them. My husband asked when this changed and if he could talk to someone, as we've always dealt with an older man and woman. The younger woman told him she was in charge, and that discount stacking was never a thing. She said if she found out who did that, sheâd have fired them.
3). Before the issue above took place, we went in to browse and I saw a cuff I liked in the âAmericanâ and âMexicanâ turquoise case. I tried it on and asked where it came from regionally, and was told Golden HillsâŚwhich is over-seas in Kazakhstan. I was told it was lower grade and not as âlavender blueâ as the other stones from that region, and was thus placed with the green Mexican and American pieces in the case. Yet the price was almost $300 for low grade imported turquoise. It was sketchy that it was in the âAmerican/Mexicanâ turquoise case - like it was being passed off as something it wasnât. The little price tag normally says where itâs from, but for someone not versed in turquoise they wouldnât think to ask. Itâs not transparent.
4). We left before the discount debacle mentioned above. I wanted to browse in peace and the girl who initially helped us made me feel overwhelmed because she kept talking. Even though I told her I was just looking and would let her know when I found what I liked. I told her that the piece had to be special because I already own so much turquoise from the business and private Navajo jewelers.
5). We came back after looking around the rest of the shops and the same girl tried talking to me again. She was asking me if I knew about mine #8 turquoise, which I do. And the mine was closed many years ago, but âapparentlyâ itâs all back on the market and they had quite a few pieces in store. After speaking to her a little more, I asked about the origins of the other pieces I saw. She said some pieces âwe just donât know where theyâre from, and weâre moving away from labeling them because they are just too hard to tell apartâ. Yet she knows they have mine #8 turquoise in their store? But, yet, she also didnât know they had foreign turquoise in an American/Mexican turquoise case? Again, not transparent.
6). I finally found $650 worth of pieces I liked, bringing this all back to the first point. We were told no discount stacking. So we just walked. We will never shop there again. It just comes off as greedy and not a place we want to drop that type of money at ever again. Turquoise is one of the only things I wear, aside from my engagement ring. We would have bought from this establishment for many years. But, because they donât want to honor a military discount, we will never be back. Again, military folks, please never shop here. Please just support the artists themselves.
Update to owner response: Iâm sorry you think I missed the disclaimer portion of the combined discount in the fine print. If you allow your shop âvoucherâ to be stacked with a discount, it should be differentiated as such in the fine print. Itâs just not transparent business. Finally, the issue I didnât see addressed is your employees lack of knowledge and service skills. The younger of the two, who was uninformed on your products, and overly pushyâŚand the other, nasty when my husband went back in to clarify the discount. Openly saying sheâd âpunishâ an employee to a customer is unprofessional. That in itself says enough about...
Read moreSpend your money elsewhere! I came in with my daughter and her friend who both had money to spend and wanted to buy earrings. We were so excited to find this store. Both girls are 9 and very well behaved. When we reached the front of the store we were prompted asked to leave because the girls had school logos on their shirts. I explained we weren't with the school group and the girls really wanted to buy something there. They again asked us to leave. There was only 1 other customer there with his daughter who also was very upset by their rude behavior toward us and asked that they let us stay. I explained I could go get different shirts out of my car but it was a long walk and by then I was just extremely disappointed for the girls. I could see if i brought 10 kids in there or if my girls were being disruptive but these things didn't happen. They continued to rudely tell us we had to leave to which the other customer was upset and left as well. The employees followed us out the door to make sure we left. They humiliated 2 nine year old girls just because they had their private school shirts on. I hope you think before you...
Read moreThis place is sketchy! I found a super cute ring and was told it was white gold (no other context). Unfortunately I didnât inspect the ring in detail until after I purchased which is when I noticed the ring had a sterling silver stamp on it. I returned to the store to confront the employees where I initially asked them âis this white gold?â To which they replied âyesâ I then pushed further and asked if it was white gold, why it has a sterling silver stamp and then I was told that itâs actually sterling silver with âvermeilâ which is essentially dipped in gold, not actually solid gold like they make it seem. They tried to use fancy terminology to save themselves after they were called out, however I have evidence they lied and I have to show proof, I will. The issue is not that itâs sterling, my issue is transparency because I thought I was getting a white gold ring but instead I spent almost $200 on a sterling silver ring. I will never be back but If you MUST shop here, please ensure you arenât being...
