City gate is one of our places to go every time we come to St augustine. We always try to bring family and friends so they can have the amazing experience we have. Staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and humble. Shout out to our tour guide of the whiskeys and spirits, I do apologize, I am not good at remembering names however he is very happy-go-lucky, and has the best coquito recipes. Gave us amazing recommendations for new creations with the whiskey and spirits! the tastings are 5 out of five needless to say we always end up buying from them every time we go to get the tour. I always buy the coconut rum for my holiday coquito, and bought their mango datil which I highly recommended! super good and flavorful with a kick of spice! We also always buy their peanut butter whiskey, apple moonshine and their mixers, and maple whiskey! As for the season of whiskeys or spirits can't go wrong with their ice tea for the hubby and cinnamon whiskey. Some regulars as well new commoners will notice a change of the $5 pay but do not fret! it is worth it since they turn it into a $5 discount upon check out from buying their alcohol which I highly, highly recommend buying. Plus it is only fair to charge $5 since you will be tasting 10 plus different whiskeys and spirits. Needless to say, as mentioned before, we will be going there for future restocking. Specifically since they don't sell their products anywhere else and the 1ht plus drive is worth it. We also try to go during different seasons since they do have specific whiskeys and spirits for every season so depending on the season you will be tasting different varieties of their product.5/5 ⭐...

We've been here many times, and always enjoyed ourselves, as well as left a little of us (in the form of our money) there as a reminder. :)

This time, we took friends who had never been to St. Augustine, much less City Gate, and we all came away impressed, a little buzzed, and a lot lighter in the wallet. Our guide was Ryan. It needs to be said first off that Ryan is a Georgia Bulldog fan and didn't miss the chance to throw in some barbs at me, as I was wearing a Gator shirt, as I do often. But that's ok. Harmony and peace, brothers. He did a great job walking us through the 11 different selections in a way that was both educational and entertaining. He was really engaging and, while I'm sure all the other folks there are cut from the same cloth, I really appreciated him. As with most of our visits, each taste was better than the last, and we took advantage of a Memorial Day special to purchase as many bottles of rum and whiskey as I ever have in one purchase. Currently enjoying them with a bunch of other folks on the balcony of our beachfront rental. To sum up - every visit here is great (c'mon, people...FREE alcohol tastings???). You won't leave disappointed, whether you take some with you or not. Ryan's great. Ask for him specifically, if you can. And make sure you give him a hearty, "Go Gators" from me, if you're so...

Great vibe- if you like flavored booze you can't go wrong We did a free tasting 10 mini shots! It's definitely a good way to start the night. Service was great it was like a little boozey show and tell. Our host Miranda?... was awesome and made it fun and light harder . Ended up getting a bottle of coconut rum $27 not bad... definitely recommend!

COLLIN IS THE BEST!! He drew us right in with his bubbly personality and confidence. We could have stood there and talked with him for hours. Great asset to City Gate Spirits. However, you should not stay and talk with him only as you would miss the great tasting they have in store for you. We had so much fun and each one was different and delicious. There are 4 stations and you get a small sampling of each flavor they have to offer. Every employee was knowledgeable and super friendly. Throughout the remainder of our day, we saw many people carrying around items they had bought after the tasting. No wonder....there's a taste for everyone. Check it out on your next visit. It's free and a lot of fun! Thank you, Collin, for your great attitude and friendliness. Never change.
