Around the World Market Place — Local services in Saint Augustine

The shop has lots of neat items, but the gentleman and lady working there this evening helped me decide not to make a purchase. The interaction with another customer in the store was terribly unprofessional and rude. You should be ashamed of yourselves for talking down and belittling that poor woman who was shopping there. This customer was taking pictures of neat items and was reprimanded, in an extremely rude way in front of myself and other customers. When she tried to apologize the lady working there ignored her and walked away. I have never seen such a heinous display in customer service.

We heard the conversation at the front of the store and the customer explained that she is out of town and wanted craft ideas to do with her young grandchildren who are in town as well. The gentleman doubled down and was being extremely rude as well. They did not listen nor did they try to remedy the situation.

The point was made that no photos is posted, but I didn't see the signage, other than the "no touching" signs all over the place.

A suggestion for the owner(s), for what it's worth:

1. print signage regarding the ban on photography, and post it at the entrance. I double checked on my exit and did not see any.

2. find new employees or train these ones on customer service. If this occurred at one of my establishments, they would be talked to and potentially gone as soon as possible.

If it were my location, I would hope someone would share with me.

We vacation in St Augustine yearly, and I have clued lots of my friends onto this area. I will not be returning to this shop, and I will be advising anyone I speak to to avoid the store as...

This store has the worst customer service I have experienced as a customer. After purchasing an item and then decided right afterwards that I wanted a refund they refused, because it was against there policy. They also threaten to call the police on me saying I was harassing them cause I was asking for a refund and it was against there policy.

I wouldn't shop here again due to their poor customer services and their polices. On another note after purchasing this specific item I discovered the lamp was broken and it wouldn't turn off after being plug in and they still refused to provide a refund due their poor polices.

I would recommend going some where else then spending anytime in this store due to there customer service...

Back in October we bought a chiminea from the Around the World Marketplace location. Unfortunately someone stole it. We loved it so much we knew we needed another from the Sunburst Trading Co. / Shell Shop! We showed the owner and Joan (she was amazing and sold us the first one) a photo of the one that was stolen, he went to the shop and found one identical to it and brought it back to us so fast! We are so excited!! We bought our neighbor one as a gift because we love our so much. Every single person was amazing...
