Robin Hood Rentals Siesta Key — Attraction in Florida

I am not customer from Robin Hood rentals, but I want to share with the public, my unfortunately experience with one of their customers last 06/28/2022 around 11 AM, when a 19-year-old guy from Georgia, at the time he was riding a Scotter, and tried to reach Ocean Boulevard, from Robin Hood store, the guy hit my 2022 Nissan Altima, with over $2000 in damages, and this person don't have an insurance, the store is not mandate by law to carry a scooter insurance, just they protect themselves and make you sign an affidavit that they are not responsible for property damage or personal injuries in case of an accident. so, 'you as a customer are on you own", riding a scooter in a high-density area with pedestrians, luxury vehicles, scooters and golf carts. in and out from Ocean Boulevard and surroundings. I visited and called Robin Hood rentals, they said that they may get an insurance for their customers at some point. I hope so. This business owner had a social and ethic responsibility with their customers and the residents, guest from Siesta Key area, I hope that is not too late before someone may be hit with one of their vehicles rented there without insurance. No all is profits but be responsible with your neighbors, get a Scotter insurance, Robin...

We (family of 4) wanted to rent segways, that is literally the only thing my 13 year old wanted to do. We arrived at the shop on a Thursday afternoon to inquire about renting them for an hour or so. Online only gives us a 2 hour option, but in the store, you can rent them for an hour, so we wanted that option. The guy there said, "I'm sorry, I only have one charged. You can come back tomorrow if you'd like." Since it was early afternoon, I just figured they were used and didn't have to charge them.. No biggie. The next morning, about 11am, I called to reserve our 4 segways. A guy answered and once again I'm told," I'm sorry, I don't have any charged. " I told him that I was told the same thing yesterday and was told come back the following day to reserve them. His response was, "well, I just got back from vacation, and Noone charged them, so there is nothing I can do. Maybe you try again tomorrow." That wasn't a possibility bc we had to head back home the following morning. Overall, I'm simply disappointed that they advertise, and also have a booking option online but cannot provide the services they advertise for... Terrible...

Going to leave a five star review but will update later givin the experience we had at the end during the return. Which should be on their property cameras. I'm not gonna let one person ruin a small businesses reputation. Which up that point was a perfect day. We rented four scooter cars and drove them all over Siesta Key from bridge to bridge. Stopped at Stickney Point Daiquiri Deck, stores, and the beaches. They're not fast(25 mph)with really slow acceleration but felt perfectly safe given the size even with my 10yr old daughter inside with me. Passed several police officers in S.U.V.'s and on four wheelers and all laughed and waived while we made noise with the horns. Everyone we seen laughed and waived as well. Now for the return. We all pulled in together 20 min early so they could get them ready. The woman was nice enough to give us an extra 20 min so as a good gesture we returned figuring they may be able to rent them out again before they close again at 9p.m. Everyone had a blast.

Update: the issue was resolved and I am still happy we rented from this location....
