Same experience as Joseph Tayor 2 years ago but worse. I would also rate them 0 if I could. My original Samsure S20 FE (in it’s case) fell off my car roof onto a concrete floor (a fall of nearly 5 feet) and the screen cracked. It wasn't a serious crack, but I was going to use it in Greece soon, so I decided to get it repaired. I took it to iParts and Phone Repairs in Folsom because I like to support local businesses. They charged me $200 for that repair (Samsung factory would have been $180). A couple of weeks later I was walking on a sidewalk and I stooped down and my phone fell out of my back pocket (a fall of less than 2 feet) and the new screen shattered to the point the phone was unusable. I'm an engineer and I did 6 axis drop studies at Intel so I was a bit surprised by the extent of the damage but assumed it was just an unlucky hit. It was just a few days away from the trip so I had them replace the glass a second time. They charged me another $200. On our trip I was very conscientious about my phone. A couple of weeks into the trip we were on a sailboat, in the middle of the Aegean ocean. I noticed a crack in my screen. I was shocked. I thought maybe I dropped it, but then it cracked again. It was then that I realized they were using substandard parts. I was confident that if I explained the situation, they would make it right. NOPE! I went to the store today and showed my phone to the manager. He agreed, it had only been 3 weeks. I asked if he would replace it? Yes, for $200 dollars. I asked if I could get my money back? No. “why would I pay for a phone you broke”. I tried to reason with him but he became confrontational. I have 40 years of engineering experience in computer design, thermal, mechanical, electrical, pretty much every stress you can imagine. Companies like SpaceX seek me out for advice. Instead of making this right, this idiot tried to convince me that I was wrong. I was wrong, I was wrong to use this company more than once. I will never make that mistake again.
I will support local businesses in the future, but...
Read moreWould give zero stars if I could, but this shop does not stand behind their work or listen to their customers. I recently had them put a new screen on an iPad. Last night my daughter was using the iPad while sitting next to me, and suddenly a section of the screen suddenly cracked, scaring her. You’ll notice from the picture that the cracks cover a large area, span out from the middle of the screen (not an edge from an impaction) and have no specific impact point that the crack radiate from. I immediately called the store and was initially told that they provide no follow up service on cracks to items they have installed, but upon requesting for a manager was able to explain what happened. The manager, Ben, said that I could bring in the device and he would look at it. Today I brought the device to the store and again explained what happened. Ben insisted that what I said could not have happened, because he had never heard of anything like that. Per the manager there must have been some impact. I repeated what I had told him the night before about what happened, and pointed out that the nature of the cracks showed that the damage could not have been from a drop. Ben insisted that what I was saying “was not true”. I think that it is one thing to refuse to stand by the workmanship of your shop, but another to insinuate that a customer who had previously called, and then came in the next day is a lying. I will not be doing business with this shop in the future, and would...
Read moreUpdate to Review: I contacted Alika, the owner and explained the situation. He did refund me the money I paid for the repair, so I am hoping this was an isolated incident and will try again when needed.
I thought this was a better alternative to going to Apple to have my screen repaired- it's in town and cheaper. In the last month we replaced the glass on my son's IPhone 6 and my IPhone 5. Within a couple of weeks both phones had glitches ( you would press a letter and it would start texting someone randomly or type multiple random letters) and my sons glass was falling off. We took them back and they said they would replace them under the warranty. Within the same week the home button on my phone was loose then started to form a crack coming from the button and having the same glitches it had before, but worse until it got to the point the touch screen does not work at all and the phone is unusable. I took the phone back in and was told by all 3 employees at the counter that it's probably my phone, not anything they did when they opened it and that they will replace it, but I have to pay full price again. How is it not there responsibility to repair my phone when it never had a problem until they opened it? I could not even finish explaining without the woman at the counter cutting me off to tell me why it wasn't theirs to fix, but my phone is defective. I have found they are friendly and helpful when all goes well, but not to be trusted when they...
