I wouldn't even rate this place half a star. My son & I went to visit NEW breakfast spot. We have our usual every Saturday. We had to do shopping in Folsom & we looked up restaurants to eat. I thought the photos werent good to view. Food looks bland & tastes bland. We walked in the restaurant and the lady that approached us I believe Maybe the owner she is fairly older and has black hair and wears a lot of makeup... She did not greet us with a smile which wasn't a warm welcome. She sat us at a table in the corner right up in another people's table. The salt and pepper shaker had old very old crusty food sitting on top of it obviously they don't clean those. They had utensils sitting on the table and the knife and Spoon was dirty and I let another girl know about it and she agreed and apologized and got us some clean utensils. They gave us the menus and you could feel the dirt on the menus. The grease. That totally grosses me out and I'm glad I take my hand sanitizer Wherever I Go. Finally a gentleman comes to our table to take our order again greets us no smile nothing warm to say just stands there and makes me feel uncomfortable as if we were bothering him. No smile no small talk. That's it walks up takes our order what walks away. As we were sitting at our table the front door... where we were seated by in the corner kept opening and the metal scrapes together and makes and annoying sound. The food server the owner and the other girl never came and asked us if we were okay and how our food was and if we needed anything else. Our food was very plain very Bland there was no punch there was no excitement there was no deliciousness that they put into they're preparing the food. It wasn't disgusting... But with the looks of the dirtiness of the place I wouldn't doubt my son and I getting salmonella poisoning.I couldn't wait to get out of there. My son pay the bill as I walked out and waited for him in the car. I am definitely never going back to this place and I will for sure talk to everyone I know about this place and my experience. I am in the beauty business and I have a lot of clients that I speak to you each and every day. This place is definitely overrated. I believe that customer service is number one in any business. You could have OK food in the customer service is out of this world... You will still go back because you feel welcomed and wanted. I think maybe the owner has been doing this too long by herself and she needs to give a good talking to her team corestaff and how to better serve their customers and she should just stay home and relax go on a cruise. She did not look happy she did not look like she wanted to be there. And she definitely didn't look like she wanted us...
Read moreGreat cafe for a hearty American brunch in Folsom! It is located at an outdoor strip mall with lots of parking. It doesn't look much from the outside but has a cute decor once you are in (think large wall clock and painted windows with an old town west view outside). We got seated immediately and our server was an older, sweet lady who was friendly and quick. Her recommendation was right on the spot!
We ordered freshly squeezed orange juice, hot chocolate, the country eggs Benedict and the chili Verde skillet. The orange juice was definitely freshly squeezed and delicious. The hot chocolate was good. Portions for our main dishes were huge. We were able to have a full brunch, an evening snack and a full dinner for 2 out of those two dishes.
The country scramble was yummy - good sausage, decent eggs, decent biscuit, fantastic gravy. The potatoes could have had more of a kick. The gravy was quite heavy so you couldn't eat a lot of it at once.
The chili Verde skillet was excellent - it didn't come on a skillet, which means that the food was warm but didn't continue cooking and burning on a hot skillet. It had eggs, pork, veggies, all smothered in chili Verde sauce with cheese and sour cream. It came with a side of buttered bread. The whole thing was really, really, really, really good!! I do wish that they had put slightly less salt, but my husband, who adds salt to his food, loved it. It was delicious and hearty, especially with the bread! I recommend ordering this and asking them to back off on the salt a little.
Pricing wise, it was reasonable. The overall menu is extensive and their service is quick. We recommend coming here if you want a good American...

ordered 3/4 lb burger with potato salad for $12.91
Results: cheap meat. not the worst I've had (jack in the box in 2006 had some really cheap meat in santa barbara) but amongst the worst. There were a few large chunks of that un-chewable, tooth destroying stuff you sometimes find in cheap meat. overdone: ordered it medium, you could hardly tell that there ever existed pink inside. The meat exterior was charred and somewhat burnt. you could taste the burnt, and it was a considerable layer to chew through. old cheap bread: the "french roll" had a chewey exterior. it had little flavor of its own. it was somewhat tough to chew through. cheap tomatoes: tastes like ass. that's how 90% of grocery store tomatoes taste: like nothing. But to add to it, the tomato wasn't fresh. It had a noticeable flavor of Rot to it. cheap pickle: that refreshing pallet cleanser that is the pickle on the side? reminded me of that classic "vlassic" pickle spear, saturated in calcium chloride, complete with a tough outer skin.
The potato salad was bland. I'd be highly surprised if they made it.
And the glass of water, if filtered at all, was terrible.
What an insulting dish. Please go to another location. Trader joe's is apparently three or four blocks away. Just go grocery shopping if there aren't any good...
