It Was okay. the tuxedo store owners were very rude kicked us out after we walked in immediately super bad customer service. Rue 21 doesn't carry your size unless your a medium or size small unless your a man. The sizes say XL doesn't mean it is at least not Michigan XL and only XL won't fit most. Spencer's is a little better but sizes still to small unless lingerie that doesn't look to be supportive enough of my bust t shirts are foot I can't always find one my size same with a hoodie. Taco bell my favorite in the mall I always see the two cashier's I forgot there names one has a shaved head and an older lady so sweet. Maurice's has clothes that fit but I wish they had some cuter styles. Hot topic doesn't have clothes that will fit a 1x or 2x unless it's a t shirt. The new art store is so beautiful but I they shouldn't have some of the pieces on the ground iv also broken alot of art work because of it. Target didn't have any high working laptops according to the employees didn't really know what they were talking about . Five below was cute and clean and organized found clothes in there that fit me at least. Fye I love the guy that has a higher pitched voice always so nice and the store looked good as always whish they had part two of gone with the wind though they only have part one in store. The silver jewelry store was organized and clean and good prices the guy was very informative and kind and could carry a good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately the state of this mall has been going downhill for the past few years. It used to be very busy and had many retailers so it was bustling even as past as 2017. However now Birchwood Mall is on its deathbed and is nothing compared to how I knew it was since I first came here in 2012.
Macyās, Carsons and other national retailers, good stores such as Yankee Candle and Justice have left and even local stores struggle here. Remaining stores are not that busy, but it is hard to get good customer service as employees are always on their phones or have just given up because they know that the mall is going downhill without any hope. Even at Auntie Anneās I was not served for some 10 minutes and was charged extra from the price stated on the menu, prices are definitely rising from unreasonable rent. The only good stores left are the larger ones like Target, JCPenney, Dunhams Sports and Five Below.
PS: To my surprise they had a neat art store with a Hannah Montana poster that reminded me of my childhood.
Fortunately the corridor around the mall is still going strong and retailers are still investing in renovations and online shopping to compete and move forward. Canāt say the same about this mall, hopefully redevelopment will come soon and perhaps an outdoor mall/lifestyle centre or strip mall will take its place and the few popular stores will get a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's losing it's Macy's here really soon, and so it'll only have 3 anchors left: Carson's, JCP, and target. There hasn't been any stores opening in years, and I've lived here my entire life. JCP is getting a Sephora soon, which will be the first new opening that mall has had since I can remember. It's lost it's aero, Hollister, pacsun, vanity, gymboree, countless food places, the restaurant garfields, a jewelry store, and I've heard it's losing Justice too. I'm going to guess and say that the mall won't make it through 2019. Target and five below will probably stay around since they're so popular, but this mall is basically a dead mall at this point and I have little faith it'll be returned to what it used to be. If you're traveling here for the shopping, I'd honestly say to skip this place and head for M-59 for lakeside and partridge creek. These malls are in better shape and will likely far outlive the one here in fort Gratiot. If you come shopping here, I'm afraid you won't find much more than...
