Absolutely my favourite spot in Ft. Lauderdale. Public Beach Portal, Public Parking, located at the south end of the Galt Ocean Mile. L ' Hermitage residents use the beach, tourists from nearby hotels, the workers, the homeless. Conveniently located, easily accessible, close to every kind of shop and store. This is " The Place " to go and see the sunrise ; . . .

We went when it was seaweed season. There was a truck picking it up but didnt do much of a difference. There is parking and the water is clear once you pass the mountain of seaweed. There are homeless people, however they are friendly and help clean the beach.

Beautiful beach. Clean and not too many people. Dogs are allowed so watch out for puppy pee 🐶 Parking is 1.50 hr with 4 hr max and the machine does not take cash 🙄
