I liked this place when it first opened as Thasos. I also liked it when it became NISI, so I'm super pleased to see it back again and better than ever under its original ownership as well as its original name, Thasos. Thasos is without doubt one of Fort Lauderdale's most stunning restaurants. The décor is simple, based in white, which I can only best describe as being European Modern, but as one of the finest most elegant examples of such. It has a good size bar, lots of seating with all of the tables simply but elegantly set, an open view to the kitchen, but best of all a chest table full of ice displaying all sorts of fresh fish. Being a fisherman myself and a fish lover I immediately had to go over and stare some of the fish in the eye, and as I could see my refection in their glistening pupils gleaming back at me, I knew they were as fresh as fresh can get. And once again, for fish, it has some of the best brozino (also going by the names of loup de mer, robalo, lubina, spigola, or in Greece as lavraki, depending upon which Adriatic region) to be found anywhere though I am not sure if they continue to offer it salt baked, which is the super best way to have it prepared. For a cocktail I ordered an Old Fashion which I couldn't have been more delighted with. Unlike the ordinary bar usual this one was served with real mixologist craftsmanship. It had a perfect peel of fruit and the cherry was the real maraschino wine cured type, not the bright red artificial colored brined type you find in Publix, and instead of ice cubes, chilled using an ice ball. The use of an ice ball over ice cubes is preferred as it exposes less surface hence less water contamination of your drink as it melts. For my meal I had one of their specials of the day, Pan Fried Red Snapper Filet, which was presented over a most delightful cauliflower puree with heirloom cherry tomatoes. The presentation was most eye appealing and the sear, taste and overall flavor couldn't have been better. As I gave the original Thasos five stars, its successor, NISI, five stars, I'm going to give this Thasos (maybe Thasos version 2.0) Five Stars too.

Arrived early for our reservation. I was told she would get us at bar when it was our time . Well very busy I went up twice. She said I’ll get you. Well if we weren’t looking in that direction we would’ve not seen her head and signal for us to go and meet her . When you pay that much money ( for drinks ) in my day a hostess would come and carry your your drinks to your table for you. But it was a great table , with a padded and pillow bench, ( comfy ). We order the Lamp Chops only four ( no mint jello ) lol . But it had a small amount of basil pesto . Plus it had halved Yukon Gold potatoes. It came with spinach but , I asked for the baby Bok choy.. Hubby had the Snapper Filet, also spinach, it was a very nice piece , and the skin looked nice and crunchy. For dessert we shared the Ekmek Katafif. Oh we also had the flaming Cheese Saganaki, it was a square piece of cheese, crunchy top. For as busy as our server Marija at least stopped by.

We are going to this restaurant every couple of months. I love the fact that the menu slightly changes. We always pleasantly surprised by the freshness and quality of the food , as the restaurant is never too busy. Ordered salad , lamb chops and sea bas , all was superb. One of the reasons I love this place is that , as a interior designer , I can't get enough of this restaurant's design. Someone did an great job there, catching the essence of Greece's traditional elements but elevating them to the level of sophistication, which creates the unique high-end atmosphere. The smart and elegant light design is the best part of the experience. Just perfect .

The decor is absolutely lovely! The hostess was very nice and apologized thoroughly for not having our table ready and making us wait a few minutes. The service thereafter however was abhorrent. If it was possible, there would be zero stars in this review. We had reservations for a party of 16 for a birthday party at 8:15 pm on a Friday night and did not leave the place until almost 1 am Saturday. Our server was Kosta V. I understand that handling a large party can be difficult and we were more than patient for this reason; however, when it takes the server over an hour to deliver a 3 Greek salads and 1 calamari, for 4 people and an additional 40 minutes to start delivering entrees (because he claims he was waiting for the 4 people who ordered appetizers to finish first), it is completely unacceptable to be so unapologetic. Especially when there was a hungry child and a pregnant woman in the party waiting on their meals. What’s more, he delivered zucchini chips to the only vegetarian in the table over 2 hrs after it was ordered (and then tried to swindle this person into paying extra on his bill with dishes no one ordered). To further detail the unprofessionalism displayed, when we asked for our bill and requested to split it into couples, his response was, “no, that’ll take me more than an hour and a half!” He only agreed to do this after one of the guests demanded he call the manager. And indeed, it did take him more than an hour and a half to do the math! While continuously complaining that in over 10 years no one had asked him to split the bill by what was ordered! The food was nothing to rave about and the service as you can discern from the above appalling! But we tried to not make a big deal, it was after all my friend’s birthday and we didn’t want to ruin her night. It was so disappointing that no one from management came to our aid during any of this! What’s more, Kosta refused to take out the 18% gratuity charge when people asked that they’d be allowed to enter tip manually. I wish that management can take this information to make improvements on their service; however, Brian H, who handles the restaurant’s social media replied to my husband’s ill review of this venue on yelp with “bye, don’t let the door hit ya!” (Screenshot attached unless Brian deletes it) The place is really beautiful and does have potential. It is unfortunate that by the end of the night everyone present swore never to...

We live right down the block from Thasos and have been there many, many times over the years. It’s always been a bit hit or miss but mostly very good. The decor and ambiance are just beautiful. However, our recent experience there will be our last. We were a group of 6, on Saturday night, and we were looking forward to catching up with one another. It was too warm and humid to sit outside (which we would have preferred). The restaurant was quite busy. Our reservation was for 7:30 and we got there right on time. Our server seemed quite inexperienced, but no big deal. Only 2 of us ordered appetizers. First problem, the appetizers didn’t arrive until 8:45 - and that was only after I had to get the manager and complain. The entrees arrived about a 1/2 hour later. The servers brought them to the table, stood off to one side and called out , “who gets this one, and who’s gets this one?”. Are you kidding me? The prices here have escalated considerably in recent years. The place is now quite expensive. Is this the type of service you expect at a fine dining establishment? Not for me! Also, the noise level was out of control. We couldn’t even hear one another unless we shouted. We couldn’t wait to leave ! Lastly, the food was mediocre. To make matters worse, I emailed the manager that same night to tell him about our overall experience. Five days later, on Thursday, when I still hadn’t heard from him, I emailed again. On Friday, I called the restaurant and asked if the email was correct and if it was actually monitored (wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt). I was told that he does get the emails but that the receptionist would hand deliver my messsge anyway. Bottom line, still no response. I didn’t want to leave this review. I had hoped the manager would respond and we could talk about my experience. Clearly, he didn’t care enough to do so. Sorry, but this is our last...
