Reposting this review with a higher rating than earlier. My first night here was decent. Mike at the tiki bar is awesome and super friendly and personable, all the while running the bar and room service as well. The drinks are delicious (had the Miami Vice… highly recommend). The workers at the front desk are knowledgeable and accommodating. When I first arrived, the hotel was not as “luxurious” as in the pictures you can find online. Parking is a nightmare, and trying to successfully park an SUV/Truck will take some skilled maneuvering. It also is about a ten minutes walk from the beach, not on the beach. They do not do early check in, so if you book a flight make sure to come in the afternoon. My room looks modern, but I soon realized that the curtains were broke, the phone did not work (staff sent a maintenance man to fix both, and the phone still isn’t working, was told it’s just a bad phone line) and some of the furniture and fixtures need some serious TLC. (I’ll be sure to include pictures of my room). The hotel definitely has a family vibe by day and a party vibe by night. Also, something to note: your room may be in a separate building. Again, with parking being atrocious, having to haul luggage to a room on the other side of the property is not ideal. The property is off of a (busy) main road and navigating it is kind of tricky. If you want peace and a calm/serene atmosphere, this is not the place (again, it becomes very lively at night). Taking into consideration the parking situation, and the hotel being a bit rough compared to its online glamour shots, it may be more practical to use Airbnb or stay at a chain hotel. Also, there is a shortage of cleaners working due to COVID, so the rooms may not be as clean as one would expect, post pandemic. Pros: Great food and drinks, and a personable staff (Mike) and the workers at the front desk. Cons: Property does not look as good as what is shown online, parking is a mess, you can hear everything going on outside your room (may be different if you’re not on ground floor), no early check in, and lastly, not on the beach despite being called the Royal Beach Palace and online pics showing the beach. (The owners also own other properties within the area: Royal Ocean Palace and Suites, and Ocean Beach Club). Seriously think about picking this as your first choice for a place to stay, it might be worth it to spend the extra money and stay at a resort/chain hotel, or using Airbnb or Vrbo.

It’s not what I expected it to be. There is still work being done which limits what a guest has access to. First, when I was dropped off by an Uber ride, I was confused about if this was the hotel. The name says “Garden Inn” and the main area looks unoccupied or deserted. Many other guests were confused as well. A few asked me if this was the right hotel and was looking for the front desk office. My room looks very compact, like a tiny home. There was an ant trail problem in my room. A lot of what’s shown as visuals and typed information on their website is not accurate. This is very misleading. I was disappointed when I actually saw this place in person. To be advertised as a resort and charge resort fees is ridiculous. Maybe it would be different once they actually finish construction but it’s still not a resort type of hotel. No breakfast, or any cooked food because the kitchen isn’t available. There’s no access to the beach right here. It’s a little distance to get to the beach. The pool was open but not in the best condition. The first day of check in, there was a truck pumping stuff from the drain to unclog whatever they were working on which smelled terrible and was blocking the walkway to get to the pool. It smelled like a sewer and the truck was super loud which there was no way to enjoy the pool area. The deposit is $200 which is way more than a previous hotel I was at days before I checked in here. The other hotel literally has a bar, restaurants in the lobby area, access to two pools, an attraction of events at night, easy entry to the beach from one of the pool areas just a few feet away and many other things. Imagine waking up on your last day of staying and the power goes out. So my check out day was stressful because I had food in the fridge to heat up before checking out but had to throw it all away. Now I have to head to the airport hungry because my plan was to eat what I already bought. This is more of a motel style wheee it’s not a family or romantic partner type of hotel as advertised. Management should notify on the website as well as update what in progress or under construction. I will say that the bed is comfortable, bathroom area is okay where the water works and temperature of water is good. This is my experience as to what I’ve went through as well as my point of view. I have photos and video footage to share along with this review.

Mixed Stay at Royal Beach Palace Hotel, Fort Lauderdale (April 11–15, 2025) ✅ What I Liked: Location: The hotel is well situated. You have a CVS pharmacy and McDonald's right across the street, which is convenient for grabbing essentials or a quick meal. Though the beach isn’t right next door, it's within a walkable distance. Similarly, stores like Walgreens and some restaurants are a short walk away, so getting around isn’t too difficult. Room Experience: I stayed for 4 nights. The room was comfortable, and I could see a partial view of the water, which added to the experience and made the stay a bit more pleasant. ❌ What I Didn’t Like: Signboard Confusion: The hotel is listed as "Royal Beach Palace Hotel" during booking, but the actual signboard says “The Garden Hotel”, which is extremely confusing. It made it difficult to find the location — even my Uber driver struggled to identify the place. This can be frustrating, especially after a long journey. No Water Provided: After checking in, I called the front desk to request drinking water, but they denied providing any. They said I needed to arrange my own. For a hotel of this level, not offering basic necessities like water on arrival felt cold and unwelcoming. Checkout Experience: Upon checking out, I was immediately told to go outside and wait for my uber, despite it being hot and uncomfortable. It felt a bit rude and dismissive, especially when you're still a guest until you actually leave. Overall Summary: While the location and room were good, the confusing signage, lack of basic hospitality, and impolite checkout experience left a sour taste. This place has potential, but the staff behavior and guest handling need improvement to match expectations.

The hotel is cute and clean and that's it unfortunately

Dear all,

We've booked at this hotel, arriving at 1 am (after advising the hotel of our flight delayed), to check in with their 24h reception, so far no problem with the check-in.

Unfortunately once arrived and checked in we had a horrible night, we couldn't sleep more than 4 hours because of some other people's noise. So we've informed the reception of the issue repeatedly at 1.15 am and at 4.00 am and the night receptionist so went to ask this client to stop making noise at 1.15 am. So far we couldn't sleep so much because the screaming didn't stop before 5 am (after our second call asking for help with it, unfortunately!? intentionally!?).

At 9.00 am we've been woken by the cleaning staff noise talking louder even though we've properly displayed the "do not disturb sign". Then, the cherry on the top to complete the experience was a call from a woman receptionist around 9.30 am (none of them has a tag name so far we didn't even know who was who...) she so rushed us to move into a cleaned room (and we moved again to the reception, taking new keys and asking again the courtesy to talk with a manager, the girl so told us "The manager is not here, he starts later so I'm leaving a note and you will get a call or you can catch with him"), we get the room with the window facing a wall and a safe which didn't work properly (following instructions, some keypad numbers were deactivated and only some were working, we have video evidence if needed). We had our plans to follow up, so we couldn't use the safe, we were already tired to follow up with this issue too so we took our tablets, passports, and expensive stuff with us to the beach because with the premises we didn't feel safe to leave them in the room, so before leaving around 10.45 am we asked for towels at the reception, we asked again to speak with a manager, because we felt left without any apology, no solution to the problem and professionalism from the staff. The receptionist woman just told us she was placing a call with a manager for later on and added something like "the manager starts at 11.30 am so you can come here at that time also in case to have a chat with him". Unfortunately, we didn't receive any calls. We so came back to the hotel around 5.30 pm to talk with a manager, another receptionist told us "he will leave at six so you can catch with him before he leaves" and the reason was because of a manager's meeting, so we reached the reception again at 5.50 pm and the receptionist went to the back office where he stayed for 10 minutes and came back telling us "the manager now is in another meeting", we've so asked at what time the manager was available and the receptionist told us "Unfortunately you will not be able to talk with him today, I can offer you a late checkout" we just expressed our disappointment and we've asked to be called and the receptionist told my husband, that somebody will call us tomorrow at 10 am.

We've already planned our day, so we don't like to expose and repeat again and again what happened. We felt ignored. We felt treated without professionalism. They could have us left sleeping more and moving us to a normal room and they didn't. They didn't offer us any kind of compensation. They didn't even have a try. One receptionist didn't apologize. We didn't receive any calls as promised.

We don't know if the staff communicates with each other and that's not even our business as we came as guests and not as managers, but we felt completely forced to please this unprofessional way they had to attend us ignoring our needs and rights as clients and as human beings. This is our feedback as at the moment we are only entitled to share this experience with you only unfortunately, we weren't heard at all, we are not happy at all and the customer service experience received was awful. We understand perfection is not a must, but empathy should be as it has the power to change the customer feedback and improve the company prestige of course if the business is...

November 2023 Disappointments and Failures

After spending over a year renovating the Galt Villas at this property the results, in the opinion of this regular visitor, are disappointing. This was my sixth visit, all of which were over two weeks long. My plan was to go for about 17 days every April and November. I will not go back. Failures The kitchen suites are roomy and have a functional kitchen. In the renovation they replaced the full-sized refrigerator/freezer with a larger-than-usual bar fridge. With the elimination of the freezer, this property no longer meets my basic requirements. This is a major downgrade. The Galt Villas always had a variety of patio furniture in its common areas. There is almost none now. Another basic need no longer met. I paid full price for a property that no longer delivers as it once did. The deadbolt door latch on my room door did not work. The bathroom tissue holder in my room was not properly installed. When I made my reservation directly with the hotel (to avoid miscommunication between a discount site and the property as happened in the past) I was very specific about needing a ground floor room. When I called to confirm details that I had given in writing, they had assigned me to a second-floor room. If I had not called, there would have been a problem at check-in. This is a basic service failure. Again, I paid a significant premium to avoid such issues. Disappointments

After over one year of renovation time, rusty hinges on the bathroom door are not acceptable. The bathtub/shower design is just plain stupid. In place of a shower curtain there is a glass wall, fixed in place, extending for half the tub length. This means you must step into the bath to turn on the water and shower. Move quickly or you will be hit with the initial flow of icy cold water. The room carpet has been replaced with floor tiles. This a smart move, but the tiles are cheap and the workmanship shoddy. Walking on the floor should not elicit sounds from the tiles. They used to provide a dish drainer for washed dishes. No longer. The beds are fine, but the mattresses are encased in plastic. With only one thin sheet separating the plastic from skin, it caused me to sweat profusely. The solution was to put a towel under the fitted sheet where there should be a proper quilted mattress cover. Before renovations there was a cabinet behind the bathroom mirror. With almost no counter space in the bathroom this was a plus that has been eliminated. When I am already paying thousands of dollars for my stay, trying to charge me $20 to check in an hour early is inappropriate. Positives

The air conditioning worked very well. The location is still excellent. They cannot...

This place is the definition of a CATFISH. Somebody call Neve, Max & Kammie. Absolutely awful. Beach access is a joke. You will walk the better part of a mile in either direction. Don’t let any of these professional, glossy photographs fool you. This place looks & feels like a by the hour establishment. I love a good campy motel…when they’re clean and well kept. The nostalgia of a good motel gets me in my feels. The Royal Beach Palace Hotel (Hotel? Hilarious) is not that kind of motel. You literally drive up to trash, laundry & discarded mattresses to be dropped off at their lobby. I have pictures Beach access? Lolol, be prepared to lug everything you’re gonna need for a day at the beach BLOCKS in either direction. They’ll sign you out some beach towels though. And where are you going to go to the bathroom? Rinse off? Forgot something? Go ahead and run back to grab it real quick. It’s fine, everything’s fine… Oh! You have to request fresh bath towels & your trash taken out each day, even though they already only provide exactly what you need. Do you not take your trash out at home? You do, right? Why wouldn’t you need fresh towels and your trash taken out at bare minimum everyday? Most hotels/motels ask you to opt out of any service. This place requires you to call each day, which isn’t explained at check in…but buried in a check-in pamphlet. Interesting place, I tell ya. The icing on the cake was our door had no number on it, and during the course of our stay we realized our door didn’t lock. Meaning w/o the deadbolt the door doesn’t lock. So while you’re out, your belongings are just sitting there unsecured. I mean your person too unless the deadbolt is on. I’m supposed to believe management doesn’t know that this door doesn’t lock? My 19 year old thinks it’s a setup…I’ve learned a lot from that girl…so that’s not beyond the realm of possibility. Especially after the response of maintenance and management. The “manager” Melissa is such a joy. Offered my family of 4 2 free drink coupons for our inconvenience, then called the police after she invited my family to leave because…the nerve of her. We’re packing to leave. She’s at the door w/ her 2 maintenance guys that cannot fix the door, but can stand there like her henchmen as we pack trying to antagonize us. When she realized she wasn’t going to be able to just stand there over our shoulders and do that, she felt the need to call the police. Good “manager” Melissa because I definitely feel like the place could use a constant police presence. It’s seedy. You got that part right. Stay here at...
