A friend of mine wanted to do a cpu, motherboard, ram, and nvme ssd upgrade using brand new parts on her sons current pc. Normally this is the type of thing we do together but I wasn’t available and neither was her husband because of a family emergency. She found this shop and was quoted $99 the assembly of the parts, when she went into bring the hardware in for assembly, she was then charged $165 instead of the original quoted price of $99. Strike 1. The store assembled the pc but told my friend that the I/O shield didn’t line up properly with the case because her new motherboard was bigger than her previous one. This wasn’t true seeing as I have built 3 previous system with the exact same hardware. They also said that the nvme ssd was working but for some reason they couldn’t boot from it so they installed windows on one of the Hard drive because they didn’t want to format the old ssd that was part of the system with the previous hardware that was being replaced for the upgrade. But they still wanted to charge her the full 165$ even though there was the possibility that some of her I/O wouldn’t work. Strike 2. I called into speak to the rep/tech to get a better idea of what was going on and asked for pics. Its clear that the board wasn’t angled right on installation but my friend could fix that herself when she got home, the main thing was the parts were assembled and the pc was working. I told my friend to go pick up the pc and we would do the rest when we had time. I also told her to have the rep show her that all the I/O can be used properly by plugging things and for the price of $165 make sure they updated the bios on the motherboard. Upon arrival at the shop my friend was told that all the I/O ports now work but they wouldn’t let her go in the back to actually attempt to plug something in herself and that her bios was updated and everything was done. My friend gets the pc home, the bios wasn’t updated and still had its bios from the factory version 3.06 released on 2024-07-31. We then proceed to attempt to install windows ourself on the new nvme but can’t find it in the bios, we remove the nvme heatsink to find that it was never installed and the rep told us it was and it was working but they couldn’t install on it. Strike 3. Now with very little faith left we check the old hardware that was in the tower before the upgrade to find that they needlessly disassembled everything and didn’t return her old cpu so my friend had to go back to the store to pick up the remaining parts of her old hardware. Overall, the tech and the rep were polite but knew very little about pc assemble and did the bare minimum and got the system working but they lied about the bios update and the nvme being installed and working. For cell repair they maybe decent or even great but I wouldn’t have them repair or assembly a pc again.

Read moreShady business, I would AVOID!!! I took my phone in to have just the charging port replaced (a $95 estimate). I was told that when replacing the port, the screen may crack while taking it apart, and I would have to pay for screen if this happened. I dropped it off, left a $50 deposit, and was told to come back in 3 hours. I came back in 3 hours and was told it was not ready, but give them 20 minutes. I came back after 20 minutes, and was told the screen had cracked, but there would be no additional charge. I assumed that this was because they had not even started the work within 3 hours, then rushed to do the work in 20 minutes. They ordered the screen, and I am now without a phone for 5 days while they get the part and do the repair. 5 days later my phone is ready. Go to pick it up, and they want $245. I tell them that I was told there would be "no additional charge". They then tell me the no charge was for the back glass, which is NOT what they said originally. I was forced to pay the $245 to get my phone back. As I get ready to pay, I remember the $50 deposit on the charging port request, and ask if I was credited for this? He asks "Charging Port?" "What deposit?". I say. "I originally dropped off my phone to have the charging port replaced and left a $50 deposit". He looks it up, and it turns out that was a separate work order, and they opened a new work order for the broken screen. They seemed to be unaware that I even needed a charging port or left a deposit. They finally found it in the system and credited me the $50 and said they did not charge for the charging port. In the end, my charging port still does not work, and I payed to have my screen broken and replaced. They deny that they forgot to change the charging port, and claim no fault on their part. I now have a phone in the exact condition that I brought it in originally and am out $245. SHADY BUSINESS. They made mistakes, and refuse to take responsibility. I recommend that you AVOID this business at all cost. This is the WORST experience I have had with any company. Only giving 1 STAR, because they don't have a zero STAR option. Should be renamed...
Read moreI will never visit this branch again for many reasons.
They told me that they were going to open my Samsung S7 Edge under the Samsung warranty program. Then, after they opened my ohone to inspect it with no success, Samsung call center told me that this uBreakiFix branch was not in Samsung's directory to repair a WiFi issue for that S7 Edge model.
On top on that, they reported that the phone is in good conditions with minor scratches, while the truth is that the phone is like new. You can see the pictures that I posted.
In addition to that, I found a minor scratch after they opened the back cover. You can see the picture (zoom it and watch at the very bottom of the cover).
Moreover, this branch promised to call me back by 3.30pm and that never happened. I had to go there again in person and they apologized.
Finally, they promised to send me a written report saying that it is not possible to repair my phone and that I had to replace it under the warranty program, but the manager never sent me that report and now I understand why - i.e., there is a liability concern.
Now, Samsung told me to go to another authorized uBreakiFix center to inspect the phone again.
The customer-facing guys there are super nice, but the problem is what happend behind the scenes.
Now I can see two possible next steps:
The owner would post a common/traditional reply with apologizes and proposed actions and extra bla bla. That would be unacceptable for me and the Google community.
The owner would offer me a brand new phone as a form of compensation. I need a new Samsung phone by this week because I am leaving for Thanksgiving holidays! That would produce a super happy customer and much more revenue in the near future from me and the global Google community.
As Bruce Lee said:
"Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them."
I will post another message to let you know the end of the story.
Thank you all for taking the time to read my review and have a great...
