It was very enjoyable and a nice place if you have kids. The Vintage locomotives and train cars were very interesting to inspect and see how large they actually were in person was astonishing. We went on a sweet treat Sunday so we received a ice cream sundae with a big old chocolate chip cookie which I could never turn down the conductors of the trolleys were very informative and friendly. Be sure to see the trolley cats. The museum gift shop was rather small and the information was limited inside the museum. The trolley rides on both trolleys were relatively short, less than five minutes a piece and it would be nicer to have a extended ride around the town of Fort Smith. However we had a blast and unlimited trolley rides in a ice cream sundae for five bucks was a steal.

I wasn't sure if this is open or not and what the deal is, but I arrived at a quiet time. One of the "conductors" gave me a nice tour of the museum and the repair shop which was pretty awesome to see one of the trolleys being restored. Yes, the place smells like cat pee but they have a lot of cats here and I think that's okay. And then the trolley came back to the station where I boarded, paid my "fare" and had a nice little ride around some of downtown Fort Smith. It's pretty cool and the trolley driver pointed out a few of the sites as he dinged the bell and crossed a few streets in a completely safe manner. This was pretty awesome and as a "big kid", I loved it! This was a fun time and I'm really pleased to have found this little spot.

This was my first visit to Ft. Smith and to the Trolley Museum for the fall tractor show...while intrigued to see the trolley barn and items outside, there was not much of a museum feel. It was more like a cat rescue that was situated in an old trolley/rail yard. The trolley ride was neat, tho beware the windows if you open them...little fingers could get easily smooshed as they fall down randomly. The squeaking of the trolley on the tracks also had grown adults covering their ears, so hopefully they can get the cars lubed up soon. Most dismaying however, was walking into the gift shop building and the overwhelming smell of cat urine and fecal matter...and not only the smell, but seeing it there all over the floor (on a big day for the museum, no less!) Going back I see many similar reviews/comments which have noted the same problem over the years, so anyone with cat or animal allergies please beware.

I have enough time to type this right now on the trolley because the conductor won't stop talking and stopping the trolley every 5 seconds after moving. I get that you're probably trying the extend the ride but not like this... it's almost like a slow torture method. No knock on those who enjoy that type of stuff, but we came here and paid for a RIDE, not for a very very dull history lecture. You can literally operate the trolley and drop facts along the way like a normal guided tour. Also, thankfully the windows were able to open and we were able to get some breeze or we would've roasted alive in the heat as the trolley is close to a hundred years old. Oh there are also some train cars and locomotives parked around with varying degrees of upkeep (FRISCO was nice), can't go inside of any though. Come here only if you're a huge train fanatic.

The fee is 4 dollars per person, and the parking is free. The trolley itself is the Museum, so do not try to get inside the buildings. When you arrive at the station/platform, make a phone call and they will come to pick you up. I trolley is well maintained. The tour guy was super professional and know a lot of history about Fort Smith. I think the tour is worth every penny. I would definitely recommend this place.

It was fun and informative. Nice to take pictures near the trains. The museum was very limited, but had a limited amount of unique souvenirs. Very unique artwork inside. If you are allergic to cats I would say this place isn’t for you. There are cats EVERYWHERE. It smells like cats too. Although that is the only thing that was different...Riding the trolley was an interesting experience.
