I wish I could give this place fewer than 1 star. I have been here before several times, but after today I will never go back. I just needed a polish change and asked if they do nail art. The girl who was going to do my nails was very honest in telling me that they did not. Then I asked if they had any other colors and she took me to the back where they have the nicer polishes. I asked her if they do ombré where each nail is a slightly darker hue of the one before. She said they would and even helped me pick out all the colors. After she did the first coat, I realized the hues didn't really work together and asked if I could take another look at the selection so that maybe I could swap out one or two nails. I looked but no luck. I started asking her for her opinion and another nail tech and the manager came over to ask what the problem was. But they weren't being nice about it, they were wondering what was taking so long. The other nail tech was extremely rude, speaking angrily in Vietnamese to my nail tech and not understanding what I was trying to say.
Finally I just said to finish the second coat even though I didn't like it because she wasn't leaving! She kept standing next to me until I had made my decision. I actually wanted to hear my own nail tech's opinion since it seemed like she knew the look I was going for. But the rude nail tech wouldn't let me finish talking to her!
I went to dry my nails and my nail tech came over to ask how if like to pay (no receipt). She took my credit card and brought back the receipt for me to sign. It was $15! The price for a polish change is $6. They charged me $9 additional because of the extra time it took for me to pick out my polish. I took maybe 3 extra minutes, not longer. When I asked the manager why I was being charged he went to ask the owner what to tell me. He came back and said either I pay the $15 or they will remove my polish. I was so fed up at this point and frustrated that they were treating me this way. I'm told him that he could take the polish off. Then he went to the owner to tell him that, and apparently the owner had changed his mind. Now he only wanted my money - no refunds. And he started complaining about me to the customer he was working on saying that "I didn't open up this salon for free! You can't expect to get anything for free!" I wasn't asking for free service. I was asking to be charged appropriately. I didn't think taking up 3 minutes of her time was worth charging me more than double. I might as well have gotten a manicure!
Also, there were many rounds back and forth between the owner, the manager, the rude nail tech, and me. The rude nail tech started explaining to me that because I wanted ombré that's why I was charged more. Bullshit. I didn't use any more nail polish than I had to. The owner never once approached me himself and just shouted orders to the manager to come tell me. I understand the manager was just the messenger, and I could tell he didn't agree with the owner.
I will never go here again. I was humiliated, frustrated, and in the end, how much of their precious time was wasted by all of this mess? If their time was the reason I was charged more than double, you would think they would...
Read moreI received three services yesterday, and only one of them was complete. My pedicure went well, but my nail removal and manicure didn’t go well at all. The tech wasn’t, friendly and in a rush. When she began removing my nails, they were barely allowed to soak before she began fouling the gel off of my nails. Also had acrylic underneath, that I found out later wasn’t fully removed. When tech began filing my nails, she didn’t put anything over my clothing at first, so the dust from her filing was all over my shorts, but she later put a towel over my legs. I paid for a manicure service after my nail removal, and it was horrible. The tech only push the cuticle on my nail for one second before moving on to the next nail, and she never used any cuticle removal cream or oil on my nails. The tech only used acetone, water in a bowl, and lotion to massage my hand. Notice I didn’t say I was allowed to get up and wash my hands. Then she massaged one hand and arm, and then only my other hand, when she could have easily removed my watch and provided the same service on both hands. The clipping of my cuticles was subpar, so I still have to go and get another manicure. Wendy, the nail tech polish my nails it looked horrible, I asked her why they were so lumpy and she said it was because the nails were taken off. I advised her at that moment that the polish was too thick, and I have never had my nails look like this after a service. She continued to polish anyway, asked if everything looked good as she was cleaning, and quickly walked off. As the lady left for the evening she saw me looking at my nails in disgust, but said nothing. I knew the polish wouldn’t dry quickly, so I waited 20 minutes before I left. I was never given a receipt for my service, but was asked to pay before she started polishing. When I got to the front to request a receipt, I stood for a while, I guess because they thought I was going to complain. I was going to complain about the service, but once I realize the vibe of the place, I asked for my receipt because I knew I would NEVER RETURN. Nail salons will not refund for services, and they will make every excuse imaginable to explain why you should accept your service. By the time I got home at 10 pm, my nail polish still wasn’t dry, so as I began to work with my hands the polish was coming off. Lucky for me I am licensed so I knew what needed to be done. I paid $94 for a service that I had to complete myself. I had to remove the acrylic that was left on my nails, that is why my polish was lumpy. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what a consumer is paying for a service, it should be completed with diligence...
Read moreThis was the first place I got my nails done ever when I was in high school over 10 years ago. Anyway, I visited this shop w a childhood friend the 25 th of March. There was one Hispanic young lady that was nice to me but everyone else was pretty rude aside from the woman who did my pedi. The young lady gave me a paper to fill out we agreed on my color and I sat down next to my friend who is a “frequent flyer” at this particular location. The young lady was rude when she was taking off my old set. She turned her nose up and asked me what nail shop I went to and got every uglier in the face when I told her. She was being so rough and yanking my hands I said “are you okay!?” Also she charged me another $15 to take my nails off and me and the young lady at the front had already agreed on what my price would be, I was livid. Pedi was okay but the woman that was doing my nails has some serious issues she should work out. When she told me it would be $15 extra all I could say was “I was going to tip you. You didn’t have to do that” In all a very unwelcoming, rushed atmosphere there. Oh and not only this, I have been growing my nails for months now, she kept trying to convince me to cut them. She thought I was looking away and I watched her blend my nail off down to the meat in the middle of my nail to where she had to cut it. Kept telling me what I wanted “wouldn’t look right “ i told her no. “I don’t want my nails cut” “NO” at least 4 times z she did a okay job and they were thinner than I wanted like I told her. I’ve have both of my pointer fingers break and had to get them repaired 5 days ago, (a WEEK IN) and one of those is the one she cut bc she said my natural nail would “make the nails break” this morning my pinky and middle split down the middle as I grabbed laundry from the dryer 🤣🤣🤣 Can’t make this stuff up!!!! I’ll never go back there. Y’all charged me $153 dollars for a service I’ve been getting done way better and more efficiently elsewhere. I haven’t had a nail experience this poor in a very long time I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt sad in the pedi chair. Not okay. Also, the woman who charged me added things to the receipt the line items didn’t match, but I didn’t even want to argue bc that’s what they expect out of WOC. Not a friendly place they’re all abt speed but it’s okay to treat people nice. Be blessed. 5 out of 10 nails. The math...
