I went here with my uncle to purchase some suits for him, and they have a good selection of suits, albeit at a substantial price. The higher end suits look very sharp, the shirts are good quality, the ties are ties, etc. If you buy clothes here, you will get good quality. However, I want to focus on the customer service side...
We were told that the suits would be arriving in a week (they didn't have the particular suits in the particular colors and sizes that my uncle wanted, so they had to be ordered in the store online). After a week, we still hadn't heard anything, so we called, and were told that the suits weren't in, so we called the next day, and were told the suits weren't in, then we called the next day and were told the suits had arrived two days prior, but they were busy and didn't remember to call us. This irked me quite a bit, as the value of the suit lies essentially in its use, and it being available but unusable makes the suit worthless at that particular time. I complained, the girl at corporate was unable to help, and I got the number to the manager of that store, called her, and she was not especially helpful either, and got the number to the regional manager. The regional manager was a Mr. Terry Hillgartner, and after a chat, wherein I explained my exasperation, frustration, annoyance at a 4% discount offered, then a 10% discount offered (for three uses that were never able to be used because we didn't have the suits), he generously gave my uncle a 30% of total purchase in-store credit, which amounted to three free shirts, three free ties, and a refund of the alterations to the suits. Usually, I'm not a fan of businesses "making things right", because the goal should be to make it right in the first place, and once a business angers me so, I refuse, on principle, to patronize them again. Mr. Hillgartner's generous offer made me reconsider my position, as this was a gesture that went very far to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
But this is only half the praise... the rest of the praise, which is the high point, was a manager named Tammy Daken. She was polite and helpful. These two words don't sound as impressive as they were. She went out of her way to help us select good shirts and matching ties, giving her time to painstakingly select clothing that looked good and was of exceptional quality. She didn't try to fob us off with cheap or tacky clothing, but seemed to be genuinely engaged in helping my uncle look his very best. This meant a great deal to both my uncle and me, and my uncle commented several times since how helpful Tammy was, and how grateful he is to her for all her help.
At first, I was going to write a bad review, then, with the 4% discount, I was going to write a very bad review, then the 10% discount made me want to write an even worse review, but Mr. Hillgartner's gracious offer, and most importantly Tammy Daken's assistance has given me nothing but good feelings regarding JoS. A. Bank on University Dr. in Fort Worth. For Tammy alone one should give this...
Read moreI'm extremely upset with the level of service I have received from Joseph A Bank. We thought they would be the better choice for a group suit rental for our wedding, but that turned out to be a huge mistake. From the beginning we had issues trying to set it up, their staff didn't really seem to know how it worked or what they were doing. I picked out the suits and accessories for the groomsmen for the rental. When one of them went in for the fitting initially he was having trouble with the group reservation, the attendant telling him that his name was not on the reservation for a rental. When I called to double check they did it correctly, because I filled out with all the guys' names, the person I spoke to told me only the groom's name was on the list for rental. At that point I was getting very annoyed as the groom was not even going to rent a suit, he was buying a custom suit. Finally got transferred to someone else who seemed to be able to figure things out. That person read off the names listed for rentals and verified the reservation. When the men went back they were able to get fitted however their tailors seem incompetent. Upon going back to pick up the suits, two of the groomsmen couldn't take them because the tailor had shortened the sleeve 2 inches too short and it needed further alterations. Well, when going back instead of letting it out 2 inches the tailor took it up another 2 inches making the sleeve 4 inches too short. But by that time it was the day before the wedding snd nothing could be done, so he had to just go looking ridiculous in the suit and was unable to remove his jacket the entire time because of the the 4 inch too short sleeves. As if that wasn't bad enough, none of the groomsmen got their vests that were included in the rental package I chose. We also never received our group deposit back as promised. After we got back from our honeymoon I went up there to speak to Brody, the store manager. I expressed my extreme discontent and he did not seem the slightest bit surprised, as of it's a common occurrence for them to screw up so royally on suit rentals. He took down my information and assured me he'd get ahold of corporate and get back to me with a resolution. Lets see it's been a month now, I've called 3 times since my visit to the store and still no resolution nor refunded deposit. This place has despicable customer service...
Read moreThe absolute worst experience you can imagine. I recently got married. We decided to use this Jos A Banks location because they had been very helpful with my purchases in the past. My wife and I went in and met a woman named veronica. At first she was very helpful. She even went out of her way to find coupons for us. This is where everything started going downhill. I originally put a $40 deposit down and was told I would get it back. I was later told that I never put the money down and that I will not get it back. Every single one of my groomsmen were charged a different amount. Some only charged $93.00 and some close to $200. They eventually fixed each one but only because each groomsmen called me as they were checking out. I was then told I received a $500 credit on a new suit. I decided to use the free suit for the wedding but wasn't sure if I had enough time. When I called to check, I was assured that if I made it in that night it would be altered in time. After asking off work early and driving 30 minutes to the store, I was told that I had to come back Monday because the alteration lady was not there. He then assured me that if I came back on Monday the suit would still be done in time for the wedding. When I came back Monday, the alteration lady told me that I waited too long and there was nothing they could do. She also asked for the name of the person that told me it would be done in time. I told her i didnt know his name. She then replied with "i hate when they do this they just want their commission and dont care what happens after that." I had to take the suit to an alteration company myself and spend an extra $100. The suit that I picked out had a tag on it that said $468. While I was checking out, the gentlemen told me that it was a misprint and the suit was $700. This review is a very short version of what I went through with this place. I have spent hours on the phone and even longer in person trying to get stories straight. In total, I was lies to by just about everyone in this store. No one ever seems to be on the same page. Stay as far away from this...
