Cacique Restaurant — Restaurant in Frederick

I went there on a Saturday evening with a party of 2. We were told there would be a 5 - 10 minute wait so we added our name to the wait list and settled in to wait for a table. The 5 -10 minute soon became 20 minutes - still not a big deal but then we noticed several parties of 3 or 4 people who arrived after us being seated. This became pretty irritating especially since we were well beyond the original time quoted...so we approached the hostess and asked what was going on and when we might expect to be seated. The hostess was extremely rude and inhospitable. She told us flat out that they would not seat parties of two at any table that could seat 3 or 4 - now, I understand this with large parties, but almost every restaurant I've been to has no problem seating a party of two at a table capable of seating 4 - we waited a little longer and noticed other small parties also becoming irritated - they also approached the nasty hostess and got the same ridiculous explanation...and that was enough - we left and went to a different very nice restaurant nearby who appreciated that a customer should not be told their business isn't good enough for such a snotty and pompous place as Cacique because there were only two of us - and after we walked out, we noticed two other parties of two who had received the same offhanded and arrogant treatment leaving as well. I will never go back to that restaurant - and if you're only a party of two, be prepared to be treated like dirt by their snotty, rude hostess who couldn't care less about your business....they may have decent food - it looked good, but isn't that special that I'll allow myself to be treated like dirt just to have the 'honor' of spending my money there - I don't do snotty and arrogant - but if you do, then Cacique is just perfect for those who want to be abused, insulted, and degraded - but I'll never go...

Came here on saturday night. We definitely expected it to be packaged and had no issues with waiting. I understand they were very busy, however I felt like our waiter (think his name was david) had an attitude. At once point he took our drink order, then he came back to the table several times after that, each time we had been ready to order. Everytime he would walk away from our table and go take someone else’s order saying oh i’ll be right back even if they came after us, I understand it’s busy but why come to the table to take our order if you aren’t ready to especially coming back 4/5 times? Putting in our order he just seemed irritated. I ordered a crab stuffed salmon special, it smelled very bad and very fishy ( yes i understand it’s fish but almost smelled rotten.) They were so busy i just decided to eat it and barely finished half of it, was rather pricey at $33 so that sucked. They were very busy and we had already waited probably 20 or so minutes to get seated and then maybe an hour for the food, after not eating anything all day at work didn’t want to go through the hassle of sending it back and waiting again. Took over half of what was left home and ended up throwing it away. The entire night i was nauseous and had a very upset stomach from the fish. Don’t think i’ll eat her again...

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant! We arrived for our dinner reservation with no one attending to the hostess station and had to track down the owner to ask about being seated. The front of the restaurant was packed with people who had been waiting for tables (some for over an hour and a half). We were promised our table for ten would be ready in 10 minutes and an hour and 15 minutes later, after repeatedly reminding the owner that we were waiting to be seated for our 5:30 reservation, they seated 3 other large parties ahead of us who had 6:00 reservations. We never got to eat because we had tickets to a 7:00 show. I even called the day of the reservation, multiple times, to confirm that they would have our table ready for us with a reservation. They didn’t care that they had completely disrespected us and were very dismissive when we told them we were unhappy about how we were treated and couldn’t wait any longer. We never got to try the food, but I have a hard time believing it would have been worth the wait. The sad part is that we were warned by multiple people that this would happen and we still gave them the benefit of the doubt that a reservation meant something. You’ll be disappointed before you even get to a table if you try...
