I had limited time and The Perfect Blend was two blocks out of my way which means I would be adding four extra blocks to my trip. I know it doesn’t sound like much but when you are cramming multiple cortados into a couple of hours the caffeine and the steps add up quickly. Thankfully, as I scrolled through The Perfect Blend’s Google reviews I noticed they used Julius Meinl Coffee. Every cafe I’ve visited that uses Julius Meinl Coffee serves delicious espresso drinks. I knew I had to make the journey.

When I arrived at The Perfect Blend I noticed they were only a few minutes away from closing up shop. I poked my head in and asked if they were still serving espresso drinks. The gentleman at the counter smiled broadly and said, “Of course. Come in and enjoy.” The barista created an extraordinary cortado then invited me to stay and enjoy the shop even though they were about to close.

The Perfect Blend makes its home on the first floor of the Francis Key Scott Apartments located in a national historic district. I enjoyed people watching and feeling thankful for the lovely couple who made feel at home as I sipped on a perfectly crafted cortado.

Good Coffee, excellent customer service. However, every time I get food here they seem to mess up my order. Walked in the rain today to get a delicious breakfast sandwich and I ordered a HAM, Egg, & Cheese on a Everything Bagel with a Vanilla Latte with Oatmilk. The Sandwich came out first which I was surprised about, and had to wait an additional 8 minutes for the coffee. Only 3 people working and it was busy. However, when I finally trudged on home through the rain once again, I opened my container only to find they forgot the HAM on my sandwich. It was pretty irked considering there was only 3 things they needed to put on the thing and they forgot one. I didn't want just egg and cheese, probably will stop getting food here.

Update: Apparently since my receipt said just egg and cheese it is my fault that it was input in the system incorrectly and thus my order was wrong. I know what I said since I was waiting at the counter for 4 minutes before ordering. And ordered a HAM, EGG, and CHEESE Sandwich on a everything bagel. I am not going to be gaslit by the owner in saying it was my fault my order was incorrect.

Go here, nice workers especially the lady who is always making great coffee, but...

I had seen the place a couple times but never ate there. Then someone share a picture of a sandwich from there. I HAD to have it. So we stopped in this past Saturday (7/17/2021). I had the egg, (cheddar) cheese, avocado on a croissant (see pic). My wife had the southwest chicken salad. Both the sandwich and salad were good size portions, in fact, I had to forgo some of the croissant in favor of the proteins in order to finish. Service was EXCELLENT. Our order was taken promptly and I would say it took maybe 8-10 minutes to get our order. The décor of the cafe was pleasant, with some Viennese coffee available for sale. Tables were clean and the lighting was nice a bright. We will definitely be going back. Think I'll try the pepperjack cheese next time, give the sandwich a little kick.

Edited to add: One of the owners knew my name even though we had never been there before: she remembered my post on their Facebook page indicating that I was going to try them out, and she recognized the sandwich I ordered as the one I saw...
