I was interested in finding a place in hopes of not only getting a wonderful massage but also having a great experience. So I browse online through all the massage businesses Fresno has to offer. After all the browsing, I decided to go with Hand & Stone Massage. I call to schedule an appointment on a specific date but the man informs me that they are completely booked. So I decided to schedule the following Sunday. He gets my card information so he can reserve my appointment and informs me that if I decide to cancel, I will be charged a cancellation fee. Throughout the entire week before my appointment, I receive several notifications about my upcoming appointment and asked to confirm that I will be present. Even the day before my scheduled appointment I receive a friendly reminder about my appointment that is scheduled the following day. And would you believe that very same evening at 7:30 PM (30 minutes before they close) I receive a text informing me that my therapist is out sick and won't be able to see me tomorrow? So I call them and tell the woman who answers the phone about the text message that I have just received and she tells me that, yes, they have to cancel my appointment. I ask if they can see me at a different time that very same day I was scheduled for and she very abruptly tells me no. She says that we would have to reschedule completely for a different day. I told her that I'm no longer interested in their services (since how they handled this situation was very poor and unprofessional). I don't understand how I can constantly be nagged by messages from the business about confirming my appointment and within those messages also be reminded that if I so choose to cancel I will be charged a cancellation fee, yet they can easily cancel on me without a problem and not even remotely put an effort to make things right. Very unprofessional and amateurish. It's disappointing that I won't get to experience the potentially great massage services they offer here due to how they handled my situation. I’ll be taking my...
Read moreI booked a massage and facial. It was by far the worst of both that I've ever had. I am from out of town and wanted the services during my short stay in Clovis. I didn't realize what the place is like or I would never have booked it. I have regular facials and massages so I am clear on what to expect. I'm not a complainer and try to be fair in my reviews, but I can't find much good to say. The rooms that are cold and sterile, and customers are being herded around. The staff is very friendly but that doesn't change the facts. The massage was generic and was not thorough. Even though I was specific in my requests, it was not relaxing and at times, very uncomfortable. After the massage I had to get dressed and was herded into another room for the facial. I found that odd, as well as irritating. The facial was also generic and poor. I had to ask the therapist to stop at one point because she was rubbing my face raw with the exfoliant. In addition, a sales pitch was thrown at me to get me to buy a more expensive facial as well as facial products. I read the other reviews and was shocked at the good ratings. I've had plenty of good massages and facials with qualified people. I was, and am, extremely disappointed with the services. I would not recommend this...
Read moreI had my 2nd massage here recently. My first masseuse was a sweet girl, the massage was fair but she had a very light touch which wasn’t quite enough. The table was cold and her hands were often cold. The best part is that I opted for the CBD oil and it added an extra layer of relaxation, although pricey. I had my 2nd massage today and it was much better. The masseuse seemed more experienced and the pressure was perfect. She had the table warmed up and her hands were comfortable throughout. The front office staff is always friendly and accommodating. They have definitely received some customer service training. That said, my biggest complaint is that there is not enough time for the massage and I felt like one of a herd of cattle…..get them in and get them out seems to be their modus operandi. We should be getting a full hour for what we pay. They should allow 15 minutes between appointments, a full hour of massage time with a few minutes to bask in the glow and get up off the table and dressed without feeling rushed out the door. This is a management issue, not staff. Also, please put a small mirror in each room so the clients can check their hair before leaving. I may try a few more times before deciding to...
