What I will give this Location credit for is the friendly staff and the fact that they have 24 screens and show just about any movie. But they have a lot of issues. I think it is one of the most poorly run AMC locations out there. There are a lot of disruptive people in the theater. Itâs almost like people donât even come to this place to watch movies. I have had to call many people out at this location for being disruptive. When I have complained to the staff about it, they canât really do anything because of the policy for handling these situations. on various occasions, the air conditioner isnât working in theaters. Various occasions, they donât even remember to dim the lights when the movie is starting. And an occasion or two, there have been issues with the print or the sound of the movie. on various occasions, auditoriums arenât even cleaned before they open them up for people to go there. I found spilt drinks on seats, popcorn on the floors. Trash just left on the floor. The seats are actually also a hazard. Theyâre not actually buckled down to the floor. So if you move around in them, they can actually tip over.
Dispensers are often out of ice, many drink options are unavailable at any given point. Itâs almost as if the way this place is run is a notion of âwe donât care and weâre just waiting for the day that we close down.â
It also amazes me how many adults come to this location and act like disruptive teenagers. A recent experience had me dealing with a family of four, two parents and their teenagers, acting like goofballs throughout the whole movie. The parents were even instigating the kids to act disruptive.
There is no quality control at this location. They seem more concerned with how much popcorn and soda they are selling, as opposed to the actual quality of that theatrical experience.
I am getting to a point where Iâm pretty much willing to drive to the location 20 minutes away from me instead of driving three minutes to go to this location.
10 years ago, this was a great theater. I donât know what happened along the way⌠But itâs now a very poor quality theater. So much so, that my brothers refused to go watch movies here with me. If I go to the movies with them, we have to go somewhere else.
I think AMC corporate really needs to visit this location and start taking the steps to improve the quality of the experience here.
The only reason theyâre getting out of me is because the staff is friendly and the location is so close.
My most recent experience had 30 minutes into it because the AC just wasnât working properly. It was 100° outside, Iâm not gonna sit in the theater for a three hour movie with without proper AC. Not the first time there have been AC issues. Clearly this location does not want to put the budget to fix...
Read moreAbsolutely appalled and furious with the way we were treated at AMC.
I've been coming to this AMC every weekend with my friends to watch moviesâit's become our tradition. We are all 18, legal adults, and have never once had an issue watching a rated R movie... until yesterday. What happened was not just frustratingâit was insulting, humiliating, and completely uncalled for.
When we went to watch our movie (again, R-rated, and we are all of legal age), the ticket checkerâunfortunately I didn't catch his nameâsuddenly decided to enforce ID checking like he's TSA. He firmly insisted that we show ID, which none of us have ever been asked for before, ever. We explained we could show other forms of verification: college transcripts, digital IDs, passports, you name it.
So one of our friends walked all the way back to the car to retrieve their ID. After waiting and going through all that effort, we come backâand now this same employee says we all need an ID. Which was not what we were told earlier. So now the goalposts have moved, and apparently none of us are allowed in.
Even the on-site security guard agreed with us and tried to reason with the staff. But somehow this situation escalated further for absolutely no reason. Thatâs when two regular popcorn employees, Favour and Niya, suddenly started claiming they were "managers" and aggressively told us to leave. Their attitude was beyond unprofessionalâthey were confrontational and dismissive, clearly power-tripping.
I asked to speak with an actual manager, and eventually Jessica came out with her supervisor Beau. To my complete disbelief, Jessica was even ruder than the first staff member. No empathy, no understanding, just cold, robotic enforcement. She didnât listen to us at all and simply repeated the same line about IDs like we were criminals trying to sneak in. This is after we explained weâre regular customers, and we even had proof of our age in multiple formats. None of that mattered.
Thenâjust to make things worseâJessica refused a refund for the nearly $90 we paid for tickets and proceeded to call mall security to have us removed. Are you serious? We were respectful throughout the entire ordeal. This was absolutely unnecessary and felt like an intentional power play.
This is completely unacceptable. We will never return to this AMC again. And I sincerely hope action is taken against Favour, Niya, Jessica, and her supervisor Beau. Their behavior was out of line, and they should not be representing any kind of customer-facing business, especially one where people go to relax and enjoy themselves.
AMCâyouâve officially lost loyal weekly...
Read moreTrying to combine the traditional movie experience with one found at theaters who offer in-movie food and drinks just doesnât work.
Unlike theaters (all Iâve been to anyway) that offer a meal and drinks during the movie, this theater still has a concession stand instead of servers who take your order in the theater. So instead, you wait in line to order your drinks, popcorn and lunch/dinner. You give your theater number, aisle and seat number(s) while ordering food from the kitchen so they can deliver your food. According to this theater, your food may arrive as quickly as 10 minutes or as long as 40+, âdepending on how busy they are.â
The lunch/dinner menu was limited, but so are other menus at dine-in theaters in the north Dallas area. However, the food we chose was extremely good. It came just before the movie started (we get to theaters early so we can eat before the movie) so we were trying to eat and watch, not our favorite.
The food is served in plastic bowls with plastic cutlery instead of nicer reusable dishes/flatware. Drinks come in small, medium and gigantic - plastic cups. You fill your own cup with the drink machines that have lots of options. But this one had far fewer selections than Iâm used to seeing even at a casual restaurant. The popcorn was so-so. Nicely buttered, but small kernels that get all stuck in your teeth.
The tables attached to the seats are much smaller than we are used to. I ordered southern style chicken fingers which came with an Asian like slaw and two buttermilk biscuits. It took two of the plastic containers to hold what wasnât that much food and they barely fit on the table.
Speaking of the seats, they are noticeably smaller than theaters that offer in theater food. So much so that my husband and I kept knocking each otherâs elbows off the armrests. However, all of the seats recline and lean back, which was seriously comfy.
All-in-all, we were not impressed. The experience isnât cohesive, some movies have lunch/dinner, others donât and I have no idea how one goes about getting alcoholic beverages.
Even though this is the closest theater that serves lunch/dinner and has assigned seating, weâll probably chose to drive further for a...
