I was extremely disappointed with my experience. I specifically requested an African American specialist in my booking notes, as I wanted someone who could cater to my hair type and needs. If this request could not be fulfilled on the day of my appointment, I would have appreciated being rescheduled. Instead, I was assigned a specialist who, while polite, clearly lacked experience with clients like me.
The service was subpar. The specialist made comments that showed unfamiliarity with my hair type, such as repeatedly expressing surprise that my hair was not as tangled as expected. She also refused to blow dry my hair fully, citing that I had âtoo much hair.â I emphasized before we began that I needed someone with expertise in my hair type and similar ethnicity, but my concerns were dismissed. Instead, I was told Iâd still have to pay a 50% fee if I canceled.
I left feeling unheard and dissatisfied. I spent $165 and have nothing to show for it. If this business is expanding to Dallas, I strongly recommend hiring a more diverse staff to better serve all clients. Itâs essential to have specialists who can guide clients through the process, offer helpful hair care suggestions, and provide an inclusive and professional experience.

   Read moreFirst time customer I booked services for 8/20. I was in a car accident which required me to have surgery on 8/20 and was in the hospital for 5 days. I reached out to the business after my appointment date to ask for a refund on the charge I was billed due to missing the appointment. I explained my situation and was told I can apply the charge at a later date when I am able to reschedule.
This was a bit insensitive considering my circumstances and the way it was kind of brushed off wasnât encouraging to me to want to be a customer down the line.
With my recovery journey, family circumstances, hospitalization, follow up care, and everything involved with coming out of a traumatic situationâŚrescheduling a hair appointment is the last priority for anyone in my situation and any funds you have during trying times like this is valuable to me and my family.
Holding funds till a customer can come back considering the circumstances seems insensitive and unethical. This is just adding to a list of things I have to worry about while I heal.
