Years ago Stewart Beach was a clean, and a great family environment but not anymore. My last Saturday morning visit was a disappointment to say the least. From the very entrance booth I was greeted with a huge pothole- I guess nobody have the brains to level the road with a load of sand. Then the lousy restroom area where two trailers with no working a/c provided a unique and unforgettable experience. Unlike the old pavilion where you could shower and change with some privacy now you are invited to shower (rinse) in public. It felt like a God forgotten banana republic place. Everything looks so cheap and uninviting. I wonder if those who approved the setup ever travelled or witnessed other places. Internationally speaking we're not even on the map when it comes to services that local municipalities offer for public beaches. Truly, this is one of the most disgusting beaches I have ever been to and I have been to quite a few. I was so embarrassed bringing my out of country guests to such disgusting filthy beach. And they charge a daily rate to enter-$$! I am not sure what they are doing with the money but it certainly is not cleaning the beach or raking the sand. However, the overzealous police patrols kept a close eye on every popup tent or shelter that people tried to install close to water. I will not return to that place and believe me writing this brings me no pleasure at all. A...

Read morethe beach is nice, but the rental staff (at least one employee) left a lot to be desired. Me, my wife, and our 4 year old were having a nice day at the beach when I was told I could not set up our tent so close to the water. Ok, fine those are the rules, but the the two families directly to our right set up tents. I asked Hunter from the beach service why they were allowed to set up, he told me he didn't know that it was just his job to tell people to take them down. Ok, I waited for him to tell the other people to take theirs down. He did not. I had finally had enough and told him we were leaving and wanted our money back. to his credit, he refunded us. I told him the whole situation was really messed up. he raised his voice. I raised me voice and told him he should tell the other people to take down their tents. He responded "I'm doing my job MF'er" (I really appreciated the F bomb in front of my 4 year old BTW). At that point, I just got his name and left with my family.
So the beach itself is nice and I'm sure most of the rental staff is nice as well. Just pray you don't get Hunter or you may be cursed out on you...
